family movie matinee | bella blvd…

Hi there!  It’s Friday!  yay!!!!  I don’t even have any exciting weekend plans, but it’s been a crazy, busy week, so I’m looking forward to a couple of days away from my computer – away from my work space, and being surrounded by my family!  But before I power down for the weekend, I wanted to be sure to share a layout I created for the Bella Blvd. blog earlier this week:

wendysue_bella_wednesday_layout

I used some of Bella’s Brand new collections: Family Forever, Lucky Starz, and Max.

Here are a few details:

You can see some amazing projects by my fellow Bella designers on the blog – here – there’s tons of inspiration every single day!

And now I’m craving movie popcorn…perhaps there’s a movie night in my weekend future!

and my all-time favorite journaling pen (it’s the same pen I’ve used for years, from American Crafts, now being sold under the Project Life brand):

and, honestly, I think my all-time favorite tool for scrapbooking…which isn’t even a scrapbooking tool – a very basic sewing machine similar to this one:

Happy Weekend! :)

a chickaniddy layout…

I have a layout up on the Chickaniddy blog today!  The collection I used is called “date night,” but the photos I used are definitely not about dating!  I love how versatile this collection is!

I’d love for you to hop over and check it out. :)

family forever, a wedding card | top dog dies…

I know Valentine’s Day is over, and it’s tempting to put away all of your heart shaped supplies.  But wait – there are lots of other ways to put those hearts to use!  I used some awesome Top Dog Dies (see links below) to create this heart shaped wedding card!

wendysue_tdd_wedding_022414_card4

I used paper and embellishments from Bella Blvd.’s “Family Forever” collection:

Now I’m ready with a fun little card for the next wedding I get to go to!

how to thank teenage boys…

I recently asked some of the teenage boys in our ward (church congregation) to help me with a presentation for the younger boys in our ward (the priesthood preview).  They were all so willing to help and did such a great job!  We are so lucky to have such great kids as peers and examples for my kiddos.  They were eager to help me, without promise of reward, but I think any teenager who is so willing to sacrifice his time to help out the primary deserves a little reward, don’t you?

I used this tie die (from Top Dog Dies) to make a bunch of colorful little ties – aren’t they fun?

wendysue_tdd_thankyou_ties1_feb17

And then I pulled out this little notepad – It’s from the “Love You More” collection by Pebbles – and I think it’s absolutely perfect for a note to a teenage boy…

 wendysue_tdd_thankyou_ties2_feb17

And as much as I’m sure these boys would love these cute little notes from me – I figured they would appreciate them even more if they were accompanied by some of these:

mmmm….

So I packaged some up and added the notes to the top:

Hope they enjoyed the cookies as much as I appreciated their help! :)

valentine’s day layout | bella blvd…

Happy Weekend!  I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day!!  In our house, Valentine’s Day is not such a “romantic” holiday…it’s more of a fun holiday and an excuse to have yummy treats, fun decorations, and heart-shaped pizza for dinner!

Today, I’m up on the Bella Blvd. blog with this layout I created with (the few not-so-awesome phone) pictures from Valentine’s Day last year.

ombre star cards | doodlebug design…

Hi friends!  How about a little side-trip, off the Valentine’s Day highway?  ha ha … Yesterday I shared this set of ombre star cards on the Doodlebug Design blog.  With 3 little boys of my own, a bunch of nephews, and loads of neighborhood kids, it's a safe bet that I'm always needing a birthday card for a boy - and in spite of my efforts, I seem to always have a stash of girl cards, and never enough boy cards!  That's why I've set a goal to make a bunch of cards that are "boy-friendly."

You can see the full photo tutorial over there on the Doodlebug Blog (here) – but here’s a peek:
