graduation gift card mini album | doodlebug design

Hello friends! I'm excited to share a little project I made for my favorite graduate with the amazing "Hats Off!" collection from Doodlebug Design!  (The little album I used is a cut file in the silhouette store.) I know...it doesn't look like much - but just wait until you see the inside! I needed to keep the outside kind of flat so the entire piece could be thrown in a purse or backpack.  Because, truly, they are going to want to keep this gift close after they head off to college!  (Oh, and don't miss that fun velcro closure!)

It's a mini accordion album...with pockets!  Here's a closer look at the inside of the front cover - then we'll get to the meat of it! ;)

Each little pocket is the perfect size for holding a giftcard!  Of course, every grad needs to head to Target to buy supplies for college!

Oh, and food.  Every college freshman needs to be spoiled every once in a while - when they are tired of ramen or mac & cheese, they can pull out their handy-dandy gift and treat themselves to a delicious meal out!  And don't miss that awesome graduation cap paper clip on the right page - it's the cutest!

And the perfect gift for any grad - especially your FAVORITE grad?
Cold. Hard. Cash.  It fits perfectly in the pocket as well. ;)

The last page is perfect for this little grad owl and his special message for your graduate:

Don't forget to embellish the back of the closed album:
It's the perfect sticker (with awesome metallic silver) for the back - the perfect message for a new graduate!

"Hats Off!" to all of this years grads - now go make them something fun to celebrate!!

Have you started thinking about your 2019 New Year's Resolutions yet?  I have!  One of my resolutions is to try one new recipe each week.  At the end of each month, I will choose one of my favorites and add it to a recipe book - the old fashioned way - by WRITING it down!!  I am so excited to try new recipes and find some new faves - and by the end of the year I'll have a little keepsake worth passing down someday!  Here's a look at my New Year's Resolution Recipe Book featuring the "Along the Way" collection! travelers notebook | disney mini album | echo park paper

Hello friends! I am so excited to introduce you to Echo Park's brand new line of Travelers Notebooks!  I was so excited to use the "Wish Upon a Star" themed Notebook Inserts and accessories to create a fun little album commemorating our most recent trip to Disneyland!  Here's a look at the supplies I gathered before sitting down to create my notebook.

And this is what the cute planner looks like on the inside, before it's all filled up with magic!  Aren't those polkadots the cutest? See those little elastics in the middle?  They will hold up to four inserts!

Along with the travelers notebook products, I used the coordinating "Wish Upon a Star" collection kit, including the stickers and ephemera tags, rub-ons, and puffy stickers!

Here's what you see when you open the notebook with the inserts. Note the fun pockets in the front flap! And don't forget the pen loop in the back cover!

The inserts come in several formats: blank inserts, lined inserts, daily calendar inserts, pocket folder insert, and there's even a zipper pocket insert and a photo sleeve insert! I added the blank insert,

the daily calendar insert (I'll show you more of these in a minute):

the pocket folder - which is perfect for holding little pieces of ephemera, such as receipts, maps, tickets, etc:

and the zipper pocket insert, which is perfect for holding anything that you want to keep "loose" in your notebook. One side has the zipper:

And the other side has pockets with openings to slip paper inside:

Okay, now for the fun part!  Here's the first page of my little travel album, all embellished and ready to go.

I used an alphabet designer die to cut the letters for "March" and a stamp set to add the year. Then I added some fun little ephemera pieces:

The first page explains what the purpose/theme of my project:

I covered the left side with patterned paper and added journaling, a photo, and embellishments to the right side.  The key with these notebooks is to limit the "bulk" so the pages are pretty much flat.  This allows you to close the notebook, even when it's full of good thoughts and memories!

My notebook is a work in progress, because I want to have my kids contribute to the journaling, so several of the pages are complete, except for the journaling.  I want to include their memories, their thoughts, and several "favorite" lists throughout the notebook.

On this spread, I chose to fill the entire left page with an oversized photo - easy to print on my home printer, or just crop down a photo printed at a lab. Oh, and how about those cute coordinating photo corners!  Aren't they fun??

It's fun to have tags tied with ribbon hanging off the top of the pages - this is a great way to add some dimension without adding bulk to the inside!

And don't get me started about these DARLING rub-ons.  They go on like butter and they are SO cute!!
"Wish Upon A Star" Disney themed Traveler's Notebook by Wendy Sue Anderson for #EchoParkPaper
I stacked two photos on the left side of this page, and backed them with patterned paper from the full-size collection kit:

I used extra patterned paper, a small card from the 6x6 Paper Pad, and a star from the ephemera pack to create a little tag for the bottom of the right page:

And look how nicely the stickers work for titles!

Remember the puffy stickers I mentioned earlier?  They are just the right amount of "puffy" and do not add much bulk, but a fun texture!

Don't forget how fun it is to add rub-ons directly to your photos too!

Adding a few strips of patterned paper here and there is the perfect way to tie things together:

The best thing about creating with our Travelers Notebooks is that there are NO rules!  Use them however they work best for you! My main project was created in the Daily Calendar insert, but I am not using it as a calendar.  The numbers serve more as page numbers, rather than dates.  We can't wait to see how YOU use our Travelers Notebooks for your projects!  Be sure to share with us and tag us on instagram and facebook so we can see your projects!!
