Now it's time to take down the patriotic decor...how about replacing it with a fun and easy DIY Summer Banner! I know it's an older collection from Pebbles, Inc., but I sure love the Sunshiny Days collection and thought it would be perfect for creating a banner! This is a cinch (both quick AND easy) to put together!
Ready? Here we go! Start by cutting two banners, a large polka-dot banner with a notched bottom, and a smaller triangle banner. Punch holes in the top corners of both banner shapes.
Next, add foam adhesive to the back of the triangle banner:
Place it in the center of the polka-dot banner, with the top edges aligned.
Next, choose a sticker, die-cut, or other piece of ephemera to embellish the banner piece.
Now place it on the front - overlap as desired.
Next, choose a letter or symbol from the thickers sheet and place it on the yellow flag.
After all the flags are complete, thread them onto a long piece of baker's twine or jute. If you want to add a bit of interest (and length), use the washi tape to "hang" various elements between each flag.
Finally, Overlap the washi tape and wrap around to the back.
That's how easy it is! Here's a closer look at each of the flags I made for my DIY Summer Banner.
Now, it's your turn, what kind of decor do you like to add to your home for summer? I'd love to see!
