lagoon park | bella blvd…

It’s been almost a year since our family visited our local(ish) amusement park, Lagoon.  I took a bunch of photos and still hadn’t gotten around to printing them out – when I got the assignment from Bella Blvd. to create a “project life” inspired layout, I thought the papers and embellishments from the Family Forever collection would be a perfect match-up for my Lagoon Photos.

I printed all of our photos – a few 4x6, but most of them are 3x4.  Then I started putting together some fun little cards to fit in the pockets:

The “Candid Cards” and “Die Cut Pieces” make it so easy to whip up some extra fun little pocket fillers.  Of course, you could totally use them “as is” and not embellish…but I really like to make them my own!  Up close:

Here are the two “embellished” pages I created and shared yesterday over on the Bella Blvd. blog (here):

What you don’t see here are all of the extra photos that are filling the backside of each pocket.  I love using pocket pages to document activities and events where I took a lot of photos.  I still get to be creative, but I do not feel obligated to create a dozen pages just because I took 50 photos! :)

i’m thankful | a pocket page layout…

Hello Friends!  Today is Tuesday, but it feels more like a Friday since it’s the last day of school for the kids this week.  I have a list a mile long – all things I need to do before that final bell rings later this afternoon – but before I head out the door to tackle my pre-Thanksgiving to-do list I wanted to share this quick and easy scrapbook layout I created with Echo Park’s “Oh So Thankful” Collection and their Photo Freedom Pocket Pages:

I’m so thankful for this crowd!

Some of the details:

I added little enamel dots (similar to these) to some of the cards – they add a fun little bit of texture and interest without overwhelming the design:

Of course, there are a few foam squares popping up stickers and elements here and there!

And I put my handy, dandy tiny attacher to work – LOVE this tool!

A little bit of machine stitching and a few buttons add to the comfy-cozy feeling…don’t ‘cha think?

Thanks for taking a peek – I hope you feel inspired to create a quick layout about your family – or something else you are thankful for this week!

we love swimming…

As I write this blog post I am sitting in my office with the fireplace blazing full force.  The outside temperature is below zero and I am dreaming of sunshine and warmer days.  What better way to escape to the sunshine than to scrapbook some fun summer photos?!?  (Unless of course you can actually escape to the sunshine…in which case you should absolutely GO because that would be awesome!)
With memories of warmer days gone by, I created this two page layout for the Pebbles blog this week…

The little tags peeking out from behind this photo actually had cute sentiments printed on them – I snipped them off and saved them to use later, but I was excited to add these colors and patterns to my page.

One of my favorite things about the newer Pebbles lines is the package of coordinating dimensional stickers – you know how much I love to pop-dot everything…well, now Pebbles has done it for me!  I sure love the subtle dimension and fun layers.

Oh, and the pretty colors of corrugated thickers!  I love them!

And that sweet little heart speech bubble in the middle of my title was cut right out of a sheet of patterned paper. :)

I love mixing and matching different items  to create little clusters of embellishments – and when they all have words on them I love it even more!

Be sure to check out the Pebbles blog this week for lots of fun ideas using their products – especially if you’re a fan of two-page layouts!
