colorful snowflake garland…

Earlier this week it was my turn to share a fun project on the Doodlebug blog – I decided to share a fun little glittery snowflake garland I created for my home.

I added it to the top of this door – where we are adding Christmas cards one at a time as they arrive in our mailbox. I took these photos last week and our door is filling up with holiday greetings – I just love it and I love the pop of color at the top!

our tradition…

One of my favorite holiday traditions involves reading Christmas stories and books.  It’s something we have done since Meagan was a baby and we continue to do today.  In fact, right now I’m reading “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” aloud to the little boys.  I just love sitting by the tree reading to them!  A few years ago I snapped these photos of Seth with a beloved book from my childhood.  When my assignment for Two Peas this month involved scrapbooking a holiday page, I couldn’t wait to scrap these photos!

‘twas the night before christmas…

well…the night before Christmas last year. :)

I wanted to share a layout that went up in the garden at Two Peas yesterday.  This was the first time I’ve used a digital die-cut background shape and I love the way it turned out!

I opted to cut it from white cardstock and I used an off-white background – I like the subtle contrast.

I had fun adding pops of color with paper behind some of the shapes – and lots & lots of decorative brads too!

If you want to see more details and info  about my layout (including links to all of the supplies I used), please visit the garden HERE.

This is the fun background I used – I love that you get SIX sizes with one purchase!

once upon a halloween…

I had a new Halloween layout go up in the garden at Two Peas this week!once_upon_a_halloween_layout2

This is the first time I’ve created a “hybrid” layout.  See the chevron patterned paper in the middle?  And those frames around my photos?  They are digital.  I downloaded a couple of digital kits:

This chevron paper kit:

And this frame set:

And I put everything together in Photoshop to create this:

Then I just trimmed it and used lots of other fun product to create the resulting layout!

I’m not sure why I haven’t tried this before – it was fun and easy and allowed me to save a lot of steps!
