celebrate card | pebbles inc.

Hi friends! I'm back today, sharing a quick and easy "Celebrate" card I created with the fun Pebbles collection called "Chasing Adventures." With so many amazing themes and color combos to choose from, it was hard to narrow it down, but I fell in love with these cute little taxi illustrations and just knew I had to use them on a card! Here's a peek at the card duo I made - keep reading for a simple step-by-step plan for creating it yourself!

Start by gathering and prepping the following items (sizes are indicated on the photo):

The first step is optional, but one I always love - use a sewing machine to stitch around the edges of the dot paper.

Place the dot paper in the center of the yellow paper.

Next, place the taxi paper on the bottom portion of the dot paper.

Add the strip of white cardstock above the taxi paper, tucking it slightly under the top edge.

Add the sentiment (this could be printed, die-cut, or even hand-written) onto the white cardstock strip.

I forgot to take a photo, but the next step is to add the small patterned paper strip above the sentiment. Place it over the top of the white cardstock so there is an even amount of space above and below the sentiment.

The next step is to punch (or poke) small holes in the four corners of the sentiment box. Stitch the twine through the holes and tie a bow on the bottom left side.

Next, add the dimensional sticker above, and slightly to the right of, the sentiment box.

Finally, place the entire card front onto the white cardstock card base!

That's it! Wasn't it easy?? And wouldn't it be fun to use this same basic design with different papers, stickers, and sentiments? The possibilities are endless! Coincidentally, I just couldn't stop at one card - and I had plenty of paper to make another identical card (actually I could have made several cards with only a few pieces of patterned paper!) - the only difference is that I used a puffy sticker taxi cab instead of a thicker!

autumn gift trio | echo park paper co.

I always feel extra creative in the fall.  Maybe it's the thought of being all warm and cozy inside the house while the temperatures outside are falling.  Maybe it's all the inspiration around me - both in nature...and in the fun boutiques that are popping up everywhere.  Or perhaps it's the amazing new fall paper collections I get to work with!  This "Fall is in the Air" collection by Echo Park is one of my favorites, for sure!  Here's a look at the gift trio I created for their blog:

echo park + imagine crafts blog hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to this stop on the Echo Park Paper and Imagine Crafts Blog Hop!!  I was so excited to choose ink colors to coordinate with the "Magical Adventure" collection!

 Don't you just love it when you can find ink colors that match paper colors perfectly??

 I used the yellow ink to stamp the stars on the top of the label:

And I used the red ink to stamp the word "magic" in the bottom of the label - both before adding the "birthday" die cut:

I also used these three ink colors, along with these awesome letter stamps, to add the recipients name to the tag for the envelope:

Now, it's really really hard to tell in the photos, but I sprayed this amazing shimmer spray to the front of the card - I tried to get the light just right so you could see it:

Can you tell?  Trust me, it's all sparkly and fun...just not easy to photograph.

Now, be sure to leave a comment on this blog post, before hopping along to the next blog, for a chance to win this incredible prize package!

After you say hello, follow along to the next blog on the list - I'm sure you're going to find lots of inspiration as you go!  Good luck!

today,the card set…

Today is last day I get to share a project with you as an official “’fetti friend” as my term ends the last day of February.  I’ve really loved using the products from Reverse Confetti and hope I’ve inspired you to at least take a look at their website and blog

WendySAIntro

Most of my projects over the last couple of months have been Valentine’s Day or Love themed. Not this time! I wanted to create a more generic set of cards.  I really loved the bold “Today” stamp in the “Right Here, Right Now” set and decided to use it to create a set of “everyday” note cards.

I wanted the “TODAY” to really stand out, so I used bright red ink (Doodlebug’s “Ladybug” Red ink by Colorbox) on smooth white cardstock.  I embellished each card differently, but used die-cut shapes, cut with the “Square Tag” and “Documented” Dies by Reverse Confetti.  I chose papers and brads from the “Anything Goes” collection by Echo Park Paper Co.

Thanks for stopping by my blog TODAY – and thanks again to the nice folks at Reverse Confetti for inviting me to join them for a few months! :)

Speaking of “TODAY,” I’ve had the words to this hymn playing over and over in my mind since I started this project – so I thought I’d share the lyrics here:

Today, while the sun shines, work with a will;
Today all your duties with patience fulfill.
Today, while the birds sing, harbor no care;
Call life a good gift; call the world fair.

Today, today, work with a will;
Today, today, your duties fulfill.
Today, today, work while you may;
Prepare for tomorrow by working today.

Today seek the treasure better than gold,
The peace and the joy that are found in the fold.
Today seek the gems that shine in the heart;
While here we labor, choose the better part.

Today seek for goodness, virtue, and truth,
As crown of your life and the grace of your youth.
Today, while the heart beats, live to be true,
Constant and faithful all the way through.

Now…Go out and take advantage of TODAY – make it a great one!!!
