valentine's day boxes | echo park paper

Welcome to February! It's time to start thinking about Valentine's Day gifts...and how we're going to wrap them up. ♥ Here's a fun little idea for treats or smaller gifts (including gift cards).

I created this set of boxes for Echo Park Paper using Carta Bella's "My Valentine" collection - isn't it pretty?!?

I cut the boxes with my Silhouette Cameo using a digital cut file.

To created the shapes on the tops, I used some of Echo Park's metal die cuts with faux stitching around the edges - these are honestly one of my favorite products ever!

How would you fill up these sweet little boxes?

quick and easy halloween banner

Whether you go all-out, or stay minimal with your Halloween decorations, there's always room for a quick and easy banner, right?  Today I wanted to share this easy-to-make Halloween banner featuring the "Trick or Treat" collection by Echo Park Paper.

It's easy to whip up a banner with just one patterned paper and a few coordinating solids!
I used my Silhouette machine to cut out the base for these banner flags from a pretty plaid paper - and chose a little less traditional shape with the rounded bottom. I cut large circles from solid orange, and letters from black. I added the gray strip along the top for a bit of extra interest - plus it makes each flag a little bit more sturdy for hanging.

I cut the bat shape from black paper and attached it with a foam adhesive square. (There's also a foam adhesive square behind the orange circle).

I used bats on every other banner.  The others have a cute little ghost! Here's a quick tip for assembling Mr. Ghostie. When I cut him out, his eyes were "hollow."  I didn't really like that (but it's fine if you do...you can just skip this part). So I cut a small circle of black paper.

I flipped over the ghost and added adhesive around his face.

Then I placed the black circle right over his eyes (be sure the black is showing on the front). I also added foam adhesive to his body.

See how cute he looks?

And I popped him right on his letter:

graduation gift card mini album | doodlebug design

Hello friends! I'm excited to share a little project I made for my favorite graduate with the amazing "Hats Off!" collection from Doodlebug Design!  (The little album I used is a cut file in the silhouette store.) I know...it doesn't look like much - but just wait until you see the inside! I needed to keep the outside kind of flat so the entire piece could be thrown in a purse or backpack.  Because, truly, they are going to want to keep this gift close after they head off to college!  (Oh, and don't miss that fun velcro closure!)

It's a mini accordion album...with pockets!  Here's a closer look at the inside of the front cover - then we'll get to the meat of it! ;)

Each little pocket is the perfect size for holding a giftcard!  Of course, every grad needs to head to Target to buy supplies for college!

Oh, and food.  Every college freshman needs to be spoiled every once in a while - when they are tired of ramen or mac & cheese, they can pull out their handy-dandy gift and treat themselves to a delicious meal out!  And don't miss that awesome graduation cap paper clip on the right page - it's the cutest!

And the perfect gift for any grad - especially your FAVORITE grad?
Cold. Hard. Cash.  It fits perfectly in the pocket as well. ;)

The last page is perfect for this little grad owl and his special message for your graduate:

Don't forget to embellish the back of the closed album:
It's the perfect sticker (with awesome metallic silver) for the back - the perfect message for a new graduate!

"Hats Off!" to all of this years grads - now go make them something fun to celebrate!!
