my guy…

One of my assignments for the Chickaniddy Blog this month was to create a layout  with the topic “Men in My Life.” Well, there's only one MAN in my life - my awesome husband.  (Yes, there are little men, our sons, but this one is all about my main squeeze!)  It's hard to get him in front of the camera, but I was happy to find these three photos from Spring Break last year. 

He truly is my best friend - he has been for over 20 years now.  I'm so blessed to have his love and respect! And I'm super lucky that he supports my passion for scrapbooking, paper-crafting, and photography!  I'm the luckiest girl I know!

Okay, less mushiness and more about this awesome paper!  I love using the foil papers to die-cut shapes with my Silhouette.  I wanted to cut a big heart to use on the background of my layout - but after I cut it out, I decided that I liked the negative space best - so I opted to use the silver foil paper for my background and let the patterned paper peek through the heart shape.

Of course I had to add machine stitching around the edges - the foil paper is lightweight, so it's easy to stitch right through it!

I also added lots of stickers - many of them have a bit of added dimension with foam dots behind them.

chickaniddy layout–inspired by pinterest…

Every month some of the design team members at Chickaniddy Crafts get to collaborate and make projects inspired by various pinterest items gathered together on monthly mood boards (here) by our awesome team leaders!  This month, I had the opportunity to be inspired by our pinterest june mood board and this is the layout I created for the Chickaniddy Crafts Blog:

Here’s a look at my inspiration:

As you can see, I was mostly inspired by the GOLDEN vertical lettering.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the title onto white cardstock and then I placed a piece of gold foil paper behind the lettering.

I mixed some of the papers and stickers to coordinate with the colors in my "sunrise" and "sunset" photos.  I sure love the view from my kitchen window - it makes doing the dishes feel like less of a chore and more like a treat!

twirly girl products for a boy layout…

When you hear the name “twirly girl” for a scrapbook paper collection, the last thing you would think is, “how could I use that for my BOYS?”  Right?  Well, let me answer that for you…  You see, you take elements out of the collection, and put them together like this:

and even this:

And eventually, you’ll end up with a layout that might look something like this:

And then you’ll realize what a silly question that was to begin with! ;)
