sunny smiles | bella blvd. design team intro…

Hi friends – hope you’re having a great Monday morning!  I am getting ready to head in to town to visit my dentist – because you know, every girl needs a crown – or, in my case, several!  Grinding your teeth in your sleep is BAD – don’t do it!!!   But before I go, I wanted to share a little bit of news – Bella Blvd. is starting to introduce all of their new design team members today – and I am up on their blog this morning (here).  I’d love to invite you to pop over and meet my fellow designers – and as a bonus you’ll get to see lots of fun projects!  Hope to see you over there! :)

This is one of the two layouts they are sharing with my introduction – some silly photos I took of the little boys earlier this month down in St. George.  We were relaxing on a bench at the park and these two were in the silliest moods – I was so glad I had my camera to capture, yet again, their fun little relationship!

I just love all the bright, fun colors in this collection – appropriately named “Play Date!”  You can see more of this collection – and purchase it -  HERE, but scroll down to see more details from my layout. :)

Be sure to visit the Bella Blvd. blog every day for the next two weeks so you can meet all of my fellow design team members for the coming year.  Have a great Monday!!

home for the holidays shadowbox | doodlebug design…

I have another fun holiday project to share with you – today it’s a fun shadowbox featuring the “home for the holidays” line by doodlebug design  Did you know doodlebug had their own line of shadowboxes? They are really great quality and I just love the fun 8x8 size!

I just love these little pre-made mini bows – you can mix and match the patterns and colors, but they are already printed, measured, and perfectly die-cut!

And of course, the “doo-dads” or flair/buttons are super duper cute!

Oh, and don’t forget the “sugar coated” glitter snowflake paper – another favorite of mind:

holiday gift box | home for the holidays | doodlebug…

I know the holidays seem like they are a lifetime away…but truly, there are only 94 days until Christmas! (you’re welcome!)  It’s time to start thinking about all the fun projects you want to create before the big day arrives – and let’s be honest, the closer it gets, the busier we get, and the less time we have to enjoy the process and fun of creating.  So now is the perfect time to start crafting for Christmas!  Have I convinced you yet?  Well, if I haven’t…maybe a peek at this super cute holiday collection from Doodlebug, called “home for the holidays” will convince you:

Seriously – is this not the cutest Christmas line? I just love those sweet little reindeer!! :)

Earlier this week I created a fun little gift box to share on the Doodlebug blog

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the pieces from patterned paper

and the assembly was quick and easy

this would be a fun little project to put together for teachers or neighbors or friends.

And those sweet little bows are in a set…already pre-cut and ready to assemble!

And the pixies – aren’t they so fun?!?  I just love the Christmas set – so colorful and happy!

A few months ago, before CHA, I was lucky to get a sneak peek of this collection and I created a few cards to share in the Doodlebug booth at the show.  Here are the cards I created:

Seriously – these reindeer doodle-pops are my favorite pieces of the entire collection – and the collection is amazing, so that’s saying something! ;)

northridge publishing digital issues–more information & a coupon code…

Once upon a time, I used to purchase the Northridge Publishing magazines and idea books individually – always at a store that allowed me to use a coupon.  To be completely honest, I felt the cost, while definitely worth it for the quality, was a little steep for my budget.  I would take my discounted issue and pour over it – I loved the variety and quality of the projects and the photography made each issue feel more like a coffee table book than a regular old magazine – seriously gorgeous.  Then I started working for Northridge Publishing…dream. come. true.  Seriously.  And shortly after that, they stopped printing their magazines.  What?  I know – I was devastated to hear the news.  But then, I found out that the issues would still be available in digital format.  Although I loved my paper issues, I found comfort in the knowledge that the digital issues would still offer the same high quality projects and photography – and while it’s not the same as having a “real” paper issue in my hands, it’s close.  Especially since they’ve also launched an app that allows me to access all of these fun extra features (like clicking straight through to designer’s blogs, accessing tips and tricks, and finding sources for product) easily!

So, while the paper issues are a thing of the past, I am really beginning to love and appreciate the digital issues too!  And here’s perhaps the best part – they are SO affordable now!  You can get an “all-access-pass” for less than $10/month.  What is an all-access pass?  It allows you to see all SIX monthly issues for one low (super low) price!  Click HERE (or on the image below) to find out more about all-access-passes and to see each of the publications included.

If you’re not 100% convinced already, or if you aren’t familiar with the Northridge family of publications, here’s a great opportunity for you to check them out for only ONE dollar.  Yep, one buckarooni – just click HERE and you can see all SIX magazines for only a dollar!

Of course, you can also purchase each issue individually for $4.99.  Here are links to a few of the magazines available each month.

Of course, the all-access pass is the BEST deal and I highly recommend it! :)

And, as a bonus for my readers, here are a couple of awesome coupon codes you can use:

for 50% off of single issue purchases just use the code “friendsandfamily50” at checkout.

and for 20% off recurring for subscriptions use the code “friendsandfamily20” at checkout.

looking good layout | day to day collection | doodlebug…

Hi friends!  I wanted to be sure to share this fun layout I created with one of Doodlebug’s newest collections – day to day:

This collection has lots of fun “everyday” type elements – but the glasses are my personal favorite and I thought they were perfect for this fun picture I took of Seth last year when he got his new glasses:

Aren’t the “pixies” fun?  They are like little coffee stirrer straws…but in fun, bright doodlebug colors!

Oh, and the sprinkles – how I love the sprinkles!

I was also able to spend one day down at the Doodlebug offices before CHA last summer, playing with new products and helping create projects for their booth.  Here are two of the cards I created that day:

day to day 1day to day 5

So, what do you think?  Do you love this collection as much as I do?  You can purchase this collection HERE!

Check out this fun “essentials” collection that’s available at

Some of the fun embellishments from this collection that I used on my layout:

pebbles basics blog hop...

Good morning!  Welcome to my blog - I'm excited to be a part of today's blog hop for Pebbles!  For this blog hop, the Pebbles team was challenged to create a project of their choice using the Pebbles Basics collection. We really wanted to show you just how versatile this line is.

Here's how today's blog hop is going to work...Visit each blog, leave a sweet note and in some cases enter to win a Pebbles mini giveaway. Once you've stopped by each site, head back over to the Pebbles blog and enter to win a collection of Pebbles Basics products worth $200 (that's a lot of product folks!).

I used the Basics Collection to make some sweet little Halloweeen Treat bags.

Who says you need a "themed" collection to make something fun for a holiday? It's just not true!

I made these little Halloween goodie bags – and not a pumpkin, ghost, witch, or spider in sight!
I filled them up with yummy sweet treats:
Now I just need to tuck these away for a while so I am not tempted to eat the treats…but I suppose if I do happen to eat one or two, I can always buy more to replace them! ;)

So...would you like to win a collection of Pebbles Basics that will include: a selection of Pebbles Basics paper, 2 sets of Thickers, Clothespins, Chips Tags and washi tape (with a retail value of $50)?  I thought you might!  To be entered to win a prize from my blog, just leave a comment telling me your favorite candy!  Simple, huh?!?

I'll choose a winner on Friday morning at 9:00 am MST so be sure to leave a comment before that!  Be sure to check back to see if you're the winner (and please leave your e-mail address in your comment so I can contact you if you win!).

Now...check out all of the other amazing projects you can create with Pebbles Basics - and be sure to enter all the giveaways too!
