Saturday was Prom and it was a great day. It was a little windy, but the storms didn’t roll in as we had been expecting (and dreading) – yay! This beautiful girl was so excited to go with this sweet boy.
I just wanted to take some pictures of their Prom group…without really realizing that not all of the parents would be there to take pictures of their own children. I’ve never felt so lucky to be a ”mom with a camera” as I took pictures of all of these good looking, happy kids.
One of the other moms who was there with her camera…a sweet and talented gal I’ve known since we were kids…suggested this pose, and it turned out to be one of my favorites!
Of course, they all had so much energy – they were more than happy to jump for me…
…over and over and over again… I just made them promise me that they wouldn’t twist their ankles…
…they kept their promise. All feet were healthy and intact after the jumping was complete…
And I can’t leave out this cute photo of Meagan and her sweet friend Carly – they’ve been buddies since FIRST grade! :)
And then they were off to get ready a long-standing tradition at Wasatch High…Promenade…
Each member of the Junior Class is introduced -
And escorted onto the dance floor:
And then, we ALL get to watch them dance (a sweet choreographed dance).
And then the Juniors get to dance with their parents – It’s SOOOOO sweet:
And then there’s another dance where they can dance with anyone they want – Grandpas are a great choice!
Brothers would have been a good choice as well – but these two brothers were happiest just to stand still for a quick picture.
And then we told them good-bye and they went off on their dates – dinner and the REAL dance –
And we all went Dairy Keen for icecream - win/win!! :)
She is stunning. Can believe she is old enough for PROM!

ReplyDeleteSuch sweet pictures. It's nice that you were able to capture that special time. And that tradition of dancing with the parents & others before the actual dance is fabulous.
