I’m mentioned a few times that I haven’t taken the time to really dig in and organize my scrapbook area in our new house yet. Don’t get me wrong – everything is put away and the room looks pretty tidy…but it’s not organized how I want it to be yet. And it’s definitely not decorated or cute. It’s been on the list…just not at the very tippy top. Well, at least it wasn’t at the tippy top – until this came in the mail last week:
Creative Spaces with Megan Hoeppner hit newsstands earlier this week. If you are familiar with Creating Keepsakes Magazine, you know that Megan wrote a monthly article featuring Creative Spaces – and this is a book featuring many of those same spaces (and more!) – with beautiful photos and tons of great organizational ideas.
I was lucky enough to have my space featured in the regular magazine, and now again in this fantastic new book! Here’s a little peek at a few of my favorite things about my (old) space:
This is one of the first photos I took of my Scrap Box. I have two now – and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
This is just a happy little corner of my room…
And this is one of my favorite little additions to my space –
I’ve shared it before, but I think it’s appropriate to share it here again today:
I know – it’s just a mouse pad…but I love it & it makes me smile. :o)
Since I received my copy of Creative Spaces, I am feeling an urgency to get my new space organized and pretty. I’ll definitely share some photos when I make some progress!
Here’s a sneak a peek inside the new issue:
You can check out Creative Spaces on sale now and use the code SPACESBB for free shipping in the US (offer good through 5/27/11).
And now, for the best part… Creating Keepsakes is generously donating a free copy of this fantastic new issue to one of my blog readers! To enter, just leave a comment telling me what you love about your own work space! I’ll draw a random winner Friday morning. Good luck!
I love my old "country blue" color door from an old old house and I put a piece of glass on the top of it to make my desk!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteMine is just a closet but I love that I am able to have that little space. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that I have all of my supplies in one corner of my bedroom, yet, I still have plenty of space to create right there. I don't have to haul it all out to the kitchen table or somewhere else. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI work in our dining area. It isn't my permanent space but, for now, I like that it is in the middle of the house where all the action happens. I love that I can work on my hobby and still interact with hubby and daughter as they do their 'thing' in the kitchen or living room. Oh, and because it is such an open "public" area, I have to clean up my mess every night. I need this motivation or else I'd have piles and piles of sCRAP everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI needed some new ideas. Perfect timing. I love the organization of my area, but I'm determined to make it cute now.
ReplyDeleteI love having my own space but I don't really know what to do with it. I'm going to need this issue!
ReplyDeleteI just got a 12 X 16 metal shed in the back yard - no electricty yes but it is all mine and I love it!!!!!! Now to unpack the boxes....
ReplyDeleteI love that my space is a creative mess - but I do need to organize a bit more - perfect inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI just feel blessed to have a space that I can call my own for crafting!
ReplyDeleteI love that my crafting area has so many things that mean something to me personally - from photos of my family and dogs, to cards I've made, to trinkets I've gathered over the years. It's a cozy space to create in.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love is that my fiance has kindly let me take over half of our guest room/office! It started off in one corner and had slowly creeped out more and more! I am lucky to have the space even though I dream of living in a house one day with my own craft room !
ReplyDeleteI love my ribbon holder! And I love your space, can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteMy space is three-quarters of room so that I can spread out!
ReplyDeleteI love my Queen Anne chair in my room. My Dh and Dd like to come and visit with my while I scrap. I treasure those moments. Sometimes Dh will come in and read while I scrap. Again, love it!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, right now the only thing that I love about it is that I do actually have a space!! LOL Other than that, I am in serious need of some help! Thanks for the chance to win this book so perhaps I will get inspired:)
ReplyDeleteRight now my scrap space is in the empty dining room along with my kids little art table. I love that whenever I am able to work, my kids are right there with their stickers and scissors, too. I also love all my little glass jars of beautiful buttons and twine. So pretty! Thanks for the chance to win a copy!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing your space in CK!! Cute! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have a huge glass trestle table that I use for my workspace and that table makes me feel elegant! It's usually a huge mess but it's the sturdiest stamping surface I've ever used and I love that I can spread out!
ReplyDeleteI am lucky enough to have my own craft room all to myself. Love your mouse pad! Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI scrap mostly from my bed and have been trying to research a way to have maximun storage close at hand yet still nice looking. I appreciate your comments on the scrapbox! I can't wait to check out the ideas in this magazine.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about my work space is that I have my Cricut and cartridges within reach, as well as all my favorite stamps, folders and metal dies. I can't believe what a difference that's made in my scrapbooking and cardmaking! I used an L shaped desk configuration from Ikea. I love the photos of your space and the scrapbox - so cool! Congrats on being in the
ReplyDeletemagazine!
I love the colors in my scrapbook room. The upper half of the walls are red and the bottom half is a white wallpaper with red carnations. I have a lot of white furniture and love finding other pieces to accent the room! Its my favorite room to decorate.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about my scrap space is that I have one. It is nothing fancy--just tables, storage carts and crates. But, it is a dedicated space and I am so blessed to have it.
ReplyDeletewould love to win a copy of this awesome CK special issue!
ReplyDeleteI love my space - it's all mine! But my favorite thing in it is my library card catalog I purchased from the University of Syracuse (NY)! It has 60 deep drawers which hold punches, stamps, and MUCH more! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletecongrats on the feature! I love that I HAVE a space- and even better- I can close the door when I don't have time to clean up after a creative tornado hits!!! :D
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to have your space featured here! This magazine looks like it is full of great ideas. Crossinh my fingers I can get my hands on one! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say the number one thing I love about my craft space it is large. Now the downside I have no upper wall space since the walls are weird. We just bought the house 4 months ago and I'm still unpacking and trying to find places for everything. This magazine could help me a lot with my wall space problem. (photos of the room are on my blog in two seperate posts)
ReplyDeleteI do not have a real work space. I scrap in the kitchen, bedroom, family room, living room wherever that is avialable. I just love that I have alot of fun stuff to work with.
ReplyDeleteDefinately the colors... it's aquas/browns/neutrals. My favorite colors. I painted all the furniture white and made these beautiful canvas covered cardboard boxes for storage. The cafe shelves were the finishing touch... LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI love dreaming of having a scrap room... in my head it's completely organized and wonderful... but I might need this magazine to help that become a reality :)
ReplyDeleteI do not love my space. I am in the process of creating one I love, so this magazine came out just in time!!!
ReplyDeleteMy work space is portable so I'm loving my self made kits with fave papers, thickers, embellies. All pretty stuff in one bag ready to go.
ReplyDeleteI am fascinated by looking at other people's craft spaces. I have a room dedicated to crafting and my favorite part of it is the large craft desk I purchased at Ikea.
ReplyDeleteI started in the corner of my living room and was really squished. Now that I took over the spare bedroom I have a place I can go for a few minutes or hours. And no clean-up in between, I can always close the door!
ReplyDeleteI love that I have a space to call my own - I converted my unused living room into my scrap area - now just wish I could keep it neater since it's the first thing ones sees when coming in the front door! Janelle H. (putting name here since I can't figure out how to put anything but anonymous in Comment As!)
ReplyDeleteI love my scrapping desk. It's an L shape and very deep and I have tons of room to spread out! Plus, it's in the "attic" (bonus room) and I'm really the only one to go up there, so I can be messy/creative and not worry about anyone else!
ReplyDeleteOk - I'm in....I desperately need help organizing my scrap stuff. I don't go in my room because it's so unorganized. But, the room itself has perfect natural light and it's a 'happy place' for me....especially on nice, sunny days like today.
ReplyDeleteThis special issue would be especially helpful for me!
I definitely need this magazine. There isn't much about my "space" that I love. We don't have an extra room that I can use so I have a small portion of the living room I try to use.
ReplyDeleteamazing! ... my favorite part of my room, my big table! plenty of room :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you get to set up your room in your new home :)
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about my space is the stamping area I made. Everything is at my finger tips.
I also love my red room. Every other room in our home is beiges and creams, this room screams create!
My husband made the desk I craft at so that makes it extra special.
ReplyDeleteOH! I love the pics and I can't wait to get this mag!! I love my sewing desk--my husband and his grandpa made it out of my grandma's old vanity that my grandpa gave her way back when they were first married. It means a lot to me:) THANKS for the chance to win:) sbmmhoover at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI need this mag since I am in the process of setting up me a nook in my living room. The ideas I am seeing rock and I can wait until one of the bedroom in my house are free and I can claim if for a craft room. My son is almost 22 and through with college now if he can just get his hours in and take his electricians license.
