milk carton, sans milk…

I love unique little containers – and you know how much I love my Silhouette…so when saw this digital die-cut in the Silhouette Store, I knew it would be a great addition to my collection.

I’ve used it several times, and each time I love it more.  I love that I can use whatever papers and embellishments I want to create unique little treat boxes.  Recently, I used it to make these treat boxes with some Doodlebug product from the FRUIT STAND collection

It’s true, they are super simple, but aren’t they sweet?

These boxes were recently featured on the Doodlebug blog (here).  And if you don’t happen to own a Silhouette Cameo you really should look into it!  In the meantime, Lori shared a link to an online pattern and tutorial for a similar box – you can see it here.

hey, mom…

A while back (he says it was two whole years ago…but I think it was last fall), Josh came into my office and handed me these little pieces of paper. He had drawn his name a couple of times, colored it, and cut them out. He asked me if I wanted them for his scrapbook. Of course I did! I love that he WANTS to save things in his memory book! Unfortunately, I am a slacker and it’s taken me a while (longer if you think he’s right about when he gave them to me) to actually add them to a page for his book – but I finally did it!  I found a random photo to put with his drawings and created a page especially for him.

I used the larger of the two drawings right on the photo matte.

And I chose to use a black and white photo because there were so many bright, fun colors going on everywhere else.  I wanted the photo to stand out and not compete with the background.

Of course, I had to add some machine stitching.  I really have a hard time not using it on my projects!

And for the other drawing, I tucked it away into this cute little pocket with a fun journaling card…

This layout was completed exclusively with Doodlebug products – and I shared it on their company blog HERE earlier this month. :)

in a giving mood…

I guess that’s the kind of mood I’ve been in lately – a “giving” mood.  I didn’t realize that a bunch of my latest design team projects have been gift boxes and gift bags that I’ve made to share some fun gifts in!  Here are my latest Pebbles, Inc. projects – two different collections, two different styles, but all gift packaging! :)

These were on the Pebbles blog (here).  I used the beautiful Lakeside collection (you can see it HERE) to create these little gift bags – they are the perfect size for a gift card or a little treat.

And then I created these (slightly larger) gift boxes with another fun Pebbles collection – Party by Amy Locurto (here’s a LINK to the Party collection) .  You can see these on the Pebbles blog here.

Do you like to make your own gift boxes and/or bags?  I love being able to make these gift packages out of whatever cardstock/papers I have on hand.   It’s so fun to personalize gifts for the recipient or a certain occasion!  I love using my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the box or bag – super easy and fun – and you can still purchase your Cameo for a GREAT deal if you don’t have one yet (with Amazon Prime, you get free shipping too)!!

banner up for father’s day…

I created this card with a fun new product from Technique Tuesday

wow168_card

The product is a stamp & die-line combo.  You can read more about it here.  I put together a little step-by-step photo tutorial over on the create:blog today (here).  Please hop over and check it out!

The stamp set I used is called “Banner Up” and I just love how versatile it is!

You can purchase it here – and guess what?  Shipping is FREE!  Yay!

And of course, I used my favorite die-cutting machine to cut the stamped pieces – my Silhouette Cameo!

Have a Happy Wednesday! :)

hello new bike…

Last week the Lily Bee design team was asked to use some fun “Page Maps” sketches.  I loved the sketch I was assigned, and created this layout based on my sketch.

I used products from the “Pinwheel” collection – one of my favorites – and you can purchase the entire collection HERE!

Here are a few of the details from my layout:

And it just wouldn’t be complete without a few sweet little additions with one of my favorite tools – the tiny attacher!
