Good morning!
Creating Keepsakes just sent out their newest issue of Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks.
This time it’s all about texture!
I have a couple of layouts in this issue…here’s one of them
I used some fun specialty pens to add faux stitching to my page.
The ink remains “raised” to create an embossed look…very fun. :o)
(eta: here are links to the pens I used: GLAZE pens and SOUFFLE pens)
Some of the details:
(I should also mention that I used papers and chipboard from one of my favorite Cosmo Cricket collections: Togetherness…so colorful and fun!)
Of course, there are loads and loads of great ideas (over 300 according to the cover!) in this book…
here’s a little peek inside:
(it was fun to see my layout on page 5…in the table of contents!)
So…what do you think? Are you interested in this special issue?

I'm a bit of a ribbon addict...! :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool it must have been to see your LO so prominently!
Does adding ink count? I think so. Brings out the pattern in the solid colored paper.
ReplyDeletei am American Crafts "Zing" fanatic and it gives great colorful texture to all of my stamped images. thanks for the chance to win!

I like the embossing folders or adding twine. Your LO is beautiful!!!

I love to add chipboard or more likely layers of cardstock that I have cut the same shape on my Silhouette and then I put them together to give the allusion of cardstock.
ReplyDeleteI use embossing folders and my Cuttlebug, and I also love Coordinations cardstock with a white core.
ReplyDeleteOH MY OH MY! I love how you made that faux stitching! SO CLEVER--and I love that you used blue too! CLEVER x2!! As for texture--I use a lot of ribbons, burlap, stitching, and embossing.
ReplyDeleteThese special issues are great! Would love to snag this one for free.
ReplyDeleteI recently braved sewing on my projects. Now I'm hooked
I like embossing folders. Totally fun. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layout!!!
ReplyDeleteI love sewing either by machine or hand on my layouts!
One thing I would love to try out would be to add fabric to my projects... I love paper distressing and heat embossing to add texture to my pages..
ReplyDeleteI like to add texture with ribbon that has a grain or nap and my favorite - buttons.
ReplyDeleteTexture is something I add through textured papers and ribbons. I adore this layout! All the details and great photos, such nice work.

I like to use ribbon, buttons, & bling.
ReplyDeleteI'm textures challenged. Apart from flowers and brads, that's pretty much it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great issue! Let's see... I think one of my favorite ways to add texture is by sanding my cardstock. I especially like to sand white core cardstock up and down and side to side to give it a linen texture. *Ü*
ReplyDeleteOops. I forgot to add my email address: lisa@myctmh.com. *Ü*
ReplyDeleteDefinatly with ribbon or textured paper. I love the cotton ribbon that is often wrapped around sets in stores. Like a p.j. set or kitchen towel set. I save those to add to a page or card. Thanks for the chance to win this great resource! 8crewmom at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteAwesome layout! I add texture by layering everything to death!! :)

ReplyDeletei like to use baker's twine, ribbons and flowers to that extra boost to a layout! fell in love with stitching recently so that's gonna be appearing more often (:
ReplyDeletesiajuanna@hotmail.com
thanks for the inspiration as well as the fabulous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love stitching---either by hand or machine---it's all good to me. I love twine but I just have the regular kind. Would love to get my hands on some of that cool baker's twine everyone is using! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI only add texture carefully, because if a layout is too bumpy it makes me all sorts of anxious. (What if it dents the other page! Or something pokes a hole in the page protector!?! The horrors!!!) But I love, love sewing on my layouts. Sewing somehow makes it feel "finished." I also use ribbon...a lot of ribbon!
ReplyDeleteOOh i would love to in the magazine! my fave texture is ribbon and i am really liking ruffled ribbons or pleated with a stapler!
ReplyDeleteI love embossing folders for texture. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI need to learn to add more texture, I'm sure this magazine could help me! Right now I use chipboard and ink but I would love to learn to sew on my layouts.
ReplyDeleteLove your LO, beautiful.

use button, ribbons, or I try and find things for souvenirs when I'm traveling to add like patches.
ReplyDeleteBy layering.
ReplyDeleteI'm not great at layering, so I hope to learn a lot from that issue!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout. Thanks for the chance to win.

I like buttons, ribbon and twine. Although I can be "led astray" by almost any embellishments!
