I've gotten a few e-mails from friends wondering about this:
Have you seen it? It's the cover of the October issue of Scrapbook Trends Magazine. I was given an assignment by Making Memories to create a layout for SBTrends using the new Halloween product, and this is the layout I created. Well, almost. It's the same layout, but they had to switch out the photo.
Here's my original layout:
They wanted to use a color photo rather than a black and white photo (which is what I used on my original layout featuring Meagan on Halloween last year). And this is the color version of the photo I took:
See the problem? Yeah, that pink hair just wasn't working with the other Halloween elements on the page. Of course I was a little disappointed...but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I am still very excited to have my layout featured on the cover - and the journaling as well as the write-up inside the cover are authentic. (assuming they didn't change anything in my write-up. I haven't actually seen it yet, so I can't say for sure, but I don't think they would have changed that. I'll definitely let you know if they did).
So, no, that isn't really my daughter on the cover - though Meagan has been begging and hoping for a baby sister for years and years. Unfortunately for her, this is probably as close as she'll ever get...
huge congrats again on the cover wendy! although that is a fun story behind it. lol! that's a great picture of your daugther ... too bad it didn't work for what they wanted. so hard to scrap pretty pink witches with all the fun orange and black product. lol!
ReplyDeleteI was going to tell you, I LOVED this layout. It is one of my favorite covers ever. I will be scraplifting it!! Congrats! And, bummer on the picture switcheroo... I'd have been bummed too...
ReplyDeleteWendy,
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest Halloween layout I have seen in a very long time!!
I agree, a very cute layout and scraplift worthy too. Your Meagan is just the cutest witch - even if she didn't make the cover.
