Welcome to the Echo Park Paper Design Team Blog Hop! Today the Echo Park Paper Design Team is showcasing projects from our latest collections.
Since we’ll be heading back to school later this week, I wanted to share a layout I created using the School Days Mini Kit.
I snapped a couple of quick pictures of Josh one day before he took his state report and display board to school. I thought this collection was perfect to showcase those photos. :)
(Isn’t it crazy to look at a photo of your kids that seems like you JUST snapped, and you see how much they have changed in just over a year? That was my first thought when I looked at this picture of my cute guy!)
There’s a free project PDF featuring this layout on the Echo Park Website. You can download HERE if you’re interested too!
Be sure to follow the blog hop list below as you hop from one blog to the next. Return to the Echo Park Paper blog at any time for the next blogger on the list in case you get lost or confused! ONE winner will be selected from each blog to receive an Echo Park Paper collection kit of their choosing.
To be entered in my drawing, just leave a comment telling me one reason you’re looking forward (or not looking forward) to school starting again. Leave your comment by midnight EST, Sunday, August 26th to qualify for the drawing. The winner will be announced Monday, August 27th so be sure to check back to see if you've won.

Wendy Sue Anderson {you are here now!}
Have fun hopping – and good luck!! :)
I'm looking forward to this school year because I love back to school shopping <3
ReplyDeleteI love this layout! School has already started for my kids and I am enjoying the quiet but to be honest I miss them this year, crazy I know:)
ReplyDeleteSuch fun layout! I am looking forward to a couple of hours of peace and quiet... and to possibly squeeze some crafting time in!
ReplyDeleteI love this layout and the collection. My kids kids dont start back until Aug 27th. With 5 boys I am excited to hear myself think. However it is my baby's first year of school. I am sad that they are all growing up :(
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about how much the kids grow every year. It's so fun to look back to see how they looked in the past (probably part of the reason why I'm so "far behind" on my scrapping - it's part scrapping part reminiscing!) In some ways it's sad that school is starting because we've had a pretty challenging summer with not a lot of free time for fun. On the other hand, the kids and I will be with our friends more, which is a very good thing! Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI don't have kids but September seems to be when everything starts up. Looking forward to learning something new myself this year...like trying a new layout!
ReplyDeleteI love your layout! This is such a fabulous collection!!
ReplyDeleteI work for the school board so the start of school means back to work for me and back to school for my daughter. It's a mixed-feeling time! I enjoy my job but I so love my time with my girl in the summer!!
Great layout Wendy. School is such an important part of life.
ReplyDeleteWonderful layout! I am not looking forward to having a schedule again, yuck!
ReplyDeleteTHe layout is gorgeous. The school in part of the formation of my kids, so its important in their life.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately school has already been in session for a week and this second week seems harder to get up than last week! I look forward to the structure and routine after a lazy summer, but I also dread the structure and routine after a lazy summer... it's a double edge sword for me.
ReplyDeleteLOVE, love your layout Wendy! And yes, the kids change WAY too fast!
ReplyDeleteWe homeschool year-round, so not really much different for us. But I do like the excitement of knowing fall is coming. And more family days ahead just being together and not so much running around.
Summer is busy for us-like most families so I guess I would say I am looking forward to slower days.
Thanks for the recommendation of Courtney's book- on my wish list!
School beginning has a new meaning when you are a grandma. I am excited for school to start because I love to see the change in the grandkids as they get their school pictures taken. Love them in their uniforms, they look so sharp and smart! LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat layout, thanks for sharing!
I'm looking forward to hearing how our grandkids are doing in school this year and how our sons and daughter in laws will fare in their college courses. We're excited for all in their education adventures since they live so far away from us -- but share lots of pictures!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to school starting so that I can have more mommy time, but also because I love to volunteer in their classrooms. I am the art parent for both of my kids' classrooms and I just love sharing the projects with 50 excited kids, and teaching them to *love* art as much as I do!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout! My twins will be 3 and are not in preschool yet. However, when they do go I'll look forward to some free time to get things done! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't believe it is back to school already!
ReplyDeleteSince I don't have any kiddos of my own, I have dubbed myself the official "Room Aunt" of my sweet little niece's class!
Back to school time is back to craft time for me!
Great layout! My son is starting kindergarten, so I am kind of looking forward to some time to actually get something accomplished, although I will miss him, so it will be bitter sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy kiddos are too young for school this year, but I know I will be a crying mess when my son starts kindergarten next year! I am looking forward to spending some alone time at home with my daughter. Since shes the younger sibling, shes never spent time at home with just her and mommy. :)
ReplyDeleteI like summer's relaxed schedule with my kids so I am not looking forward to back-to-school schedules! :p
ReplyDeleteWell, I am the one starting back to nursing school today and it is my final semester. That right there is a good reason to get started and get it over with. Great layout and super cute collection! TFS!
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome Wendy!! :) One reason I'm not looking forward to school starting is because I'll miss my girls like crazy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to getting back to routine but not looking forward to packing lunches again!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout Wendy! I'm a bit partial to your son's project because I was born and raised in Idaho! So his project rocked! lol. Our school's have already started her in AZ. I'm glad it back to school time so we can get back into a routine! Thanks for the chance to win some EP goodness!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to school starting, because I homeschool my kids and it's so fun to learn right alongside them! (:
ReplyDeleteVery nice layout. Makes me wish I wasn't an empty nester, LOL. Thanks for the chance to win some goodies.
ReplyDeleteGreat layout!! Well School has already started here. I am excited for it to start for my lil ones. They come to work with me everyday during the summer, so it's nice to have a lil me time. But I really like them being involved back in school with their friends and doing fun stuff. They amaze me every day, the things they learn.
ReplyDeleteI don't have children, but what I love about back to school is that my nieces and nephews stories about school, and school pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great LO! School has already started here and while it's nice to get the kids out of the house for a while, it's a lot of work to organize them (particularly when you have a bunch of little procrastinators in the house!). Plus, as a SAHM, I don't spend NEARLY as much time at home as people who don't stay home think I do! There are so many activities that take me away from home during the day.
ReplyDeleteLove your layout! I am so ready to get back in a routine again with school starting. Today was the first day!
ReplyDeleteSelena
What a fun layout! I'm looking forward to the start of school as it's our first. My daughter enters kindergarten. She is SO excited and I am too. I'll be cutting back to part time so I can drop her off and pick her up.
ReplyDeleteI love Friday night football! This year I'm especially excited that my daughter is part of the band colorguard and I'll get to watch her at halftime :)
ReplyDeleteSchool started here a couple of weeks ago! (Aug 2)
ReplyDeleteWe're glad that the kids are off to a good start!
What a fantastic page!
Thanks for the hop!
Love this layout, Wendy! I agree, they grow so fast, don't they? I am not looking forward to school starting because of all the stuff I have to do, LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your layout! I don't have kids yet, but I don't like it when school starts anyway as it makes my commute to work longer with the extra traffic!
ReplyDeleteWonderful school layout, Wendy! I love this kit - great colors for older kids. I'm really not looking forward to school starting. My kids are older, one in high school and one in college. I like having them around all summer!
ReplyDeleteSo Cute..love your layout. Love the paperclips!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great projects. I have mixed emotions about back to school. I will miss our beach days and day trips. I do love fall though, getting back to a routine and a new year of girl scouts. kim
ReplyDeletestarsia_70@yahoo.com
The layout is so beautiful, love all the details
ReplyDeletewonderful layout! ... and ugh. school. I am just not ready for summer to end yet! but my daughter heads back on wednesday. :(
ReplyDeleteSo cute , first day of school in theses parts yea!love the little red school house in this collection
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to moving 900miles from here in just about two more months so I am SO glad I'm not the one going back to school right now ;).
ReplyDeleteLove this mini collection... and miss the fun of starting a new school year!! My son has mixed feelings about it though, he thinks summer was too short but is happy to see his friends again.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to school starting because I work in a kids store. The kids have been going crazy and making a MESS of the store!
ReplyDeleteSchool started here last week. Not happy at all. I love having my kids home with me. No activities, no homework, no deadlines, no routines etc. Summer is just so wonderfully stress free around this house.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not use to my kids being gone, I miss them!
Im so glad that i am not in school anymore! Instead of focusing on homework, grades and extra curriculars, i can just focus on projects that i want to spend my time on!!! More scrapping and cardmaking!!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for the new school year to begin. My son will be entering 5th grade and a new school! We're both really stoked about getting into this charter school!
ReplyDeletei look forward to the malls being empty again through the day but I do not look forward to the bus traffic in the morning once again. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome project!
ReplyDeleteI do not have kids, so the start of the school year would normally make no difference to me, but i do have 2 very special nieces (one is going in the 2nd grade and the other is starting kindergarten) and i know that they are pretty excited, so i am excited for them!!! :)
One of the best parts of school starting is shopping for school supplies. And this year my daughter and I used washi to make those supplies uniquely her own!
ReplyDeleteFor me with no kids, the worst part about school starting is all the traffic in my neighborhood! The best part is seeing all the kids dressed up for their first day! Thanks for the hop!
ReplyDeleteWow, how fun! Can't wait to get back to routines and for the kids to get back to school.
ReplyDeleteI graduated from college recently, so I don't care if school starts or not. YEA!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am starting over with school and a grandson. I am not looking forward to getting up early but i am excited for him
ReplyDeleteYour layout is great!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have little ones at home anymore so it's kind of hard to answer. I am looking forward to this awful heat ending and fall getting here.
Thanks for the download!
ReplyDeleteNo children at home here either, but I'm excited for my daughter who is starting grad school next week.
ReplyDeleteI teach (grown-up) students and new school year means new people for me.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to school because I love to hang out with my besties in school and I get to see the guy that I admire in class everyday! :D
ReplyDeleteSuper cute layout! looking forward to a new school year!
ReplyDeleteSuper fun page, I like the paper clips!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to school because my kids are starting to argue too much! Time to give them to the teacher. lol
What a great pack, your layout is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration Wendy Sue, Loved the layout!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun layout!!I'm looking forward to getting a little more "me" time to scrap!!!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a fabulous lay-out. Beautiful multi-photo design and graphic lines!
ReplyDeleteI will start school again in only two weeks. Although I love summer vacation and all the spare time I can enjoy now, I also can't wait to finally see my friends again.
I'm not looking forward to school start because i don't have kids. But when I was in school I was excited to begin and use all my new books, and things.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable layout!! Love this cute school collection. And, although my kids are grown, my hubby is a teacher so I am looking forward to school starting so that he has something to do! Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteSchool HAS started here and I wasn't looking forward to it for one reason only...homework!
ReplyDeleteLove your layout and this collection! My daughter is only 2 so no school yet, but I remember loving the first day of school when I got to wear a new outfit and show off my new notebook and supplies! Looked forward to seeing my friends and start the new year!
ReplyDeleteWonderful layout! I just love this collection. TFS!
ReplyDelete1st day of school today. A few tears...from me! My baby's growing up!

Beautiful layout Wendy! 2Peas name is AnissaScraps.
ReplyDeleteDon't have any child..for me starting school..means trains with a lot of students :) so really don' t look forward it ahahaha
ReplyDeleteWe're looking forward to the school year with a high school freshman and an 8th grader with their pep band and color guard activities.
ReplyDeleteI am not looking forward to school starting again because that would mean traffic confessions! Haha
ReplyDeleteWell it was exciting building up to it but now I've been feeling blue and can't seem to motivate myself since moving my only child into college last Monday ): So hopefully this will inspire me!
ReplyDeleteHere downunder in NZ, we are not in holidays so the thing I am looking forward to soon is the end of winter and the arrival of spring. Love the LO!
ReplyDeleteI love this layout! Definitely going Ro be downloading the instructions once I've finished this blog hop! I love all the details and the big journallin cards! I am in 2 minds about the kids going back to school! On the one hand I can't wait - they are beginning to get bored (they are used to a 6 week summer holiday in the uk) and I can't wait to get back in my scrappy room without being constantly interupted! But also, I know that when they go back, winter isn't far from coming! 6 months of LOTS of snow is not good!! Thank you so much for the inspiration and the chance to win! :-)
ReplyDeleteOur school year in NZ is from February to December with our summer break over December/January so I dont have the stress of kids returning to school yet but I'm loving the inspiration of the school layouts. When they do return I like to get March out of the way because that's when all the costs come in EEEEK! What I love about it is the kids enthusiasm to get back to school. I took a pic of my now 13 year old last year on the first day and last day of the school year and it was AMAZING how much she'd changed. :))
ReplyDeleteI'm no longer affected by school or school holidays, but sometimes I have a longing to return and learn something new. It's good to have dreams! - HeatherP
ReplyDeleteIt is a bittersweet time but I am really proud of my boys. They are learning so much.
ReplyDeleteGreat layout!! I'm not looking forward to school starting again, because I like going out with my children, but they like playing with their friends:( (LOL:P)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing my son's excitement for the first day of 2nd grade, which happens to be his birthday. Double excitement!! The years are passing so quickly that I am determined to enjoy his happiness while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard to think of something to look forward to but withmy youngest going off to college I'm just looking forward to her first break where she can come back! yikes!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! Thanks for a fun hop!

Here in Australia we are just over halfway through our school year, so I'm actually looking forward to my kids' next break in October, when we can get away camping for a week and have a rest from the usual morning routine!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited about the kids starting school again, because I love the routine! It is nice to have the house to myself in the morning, too!
ReplyDeleteWe just had our back to school today. It was hectic but life is hectic in general regardless of the situation. I enjoyed preparing my sons school supplies, encorporating their mom's craftiness in some of it. It is going to be busy (since I have 3 of them in school) but I know I'll enjoy this journey with them as they grow, learn & discover.
ReplyDeleteI am not looking forward to school..I have a Senior who really does not want to complete required college related stuff. Can hardly wait for this year to be over.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to getting back to a routine again when my son goes back to school. Very cute layout!
ReplyDeleteWe have already started school. We are on week three. I love the routine that comes with it. Plus it also means it is almost our vacation time!
ReplyDeletei love the new school year mainly for two reasons:
ReplyDelete1) new clothes, love to see all the kids in their new threads
2) great pictures and great paper for all those back to school layouts.
love echo park
We have already started school here. I had mixed emotions about this school year. It is a big deal my oldest son started kindergarten this year and my 3 year old started pre-school. I can't believe that they are that big to be in school already! Time flies! I am looking forward to a bit of quiet time for myself. I already have some craft time designated! Can't wait to get crafty! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI am indifferent, summers are fun, but they must come to an end at some point. Super cute layout. I am a new follower!

I am not looking forward to school starting because I re-married in May and now will have THREE high schoolers to contend with. With my oldest two college-age and beyond, I had seen the light at the end of the tunnel, only to have to turned off for a few more years! On the bright side (speaking of lights! LOL), we have two hours of quiet time every evening, and this is my scrapbooking time, so I am looking forward to that time again!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice layout and I love how you used multiple photos on it. When my kids were little, I always looked forward to having some free time once they started back to school but did not look forward to supervising homework!
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking forward when school starts. I get to think of lots of ways for preparing snacks and lunch boxes.
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable layout! This line is perfect for all school activities!
ReplyDeletei love the little pair of glasses, so cute ;)
ReplyDeleteFun collection and page.
ReplyDeleteI don't have children, but one reason I can think of that I am looking forward to school starting is that the malls and stores won't be so crowded during the day!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteTop two reasons I love school starting again...
ReplyDelete1) no kids in the pool all day-hello quiet sunshine!
2)the smell of a new box of crayola crayons!
I do not have any children so it does not matter to me one way or the other! I love your layout!
ReplyDeleteWell I will be returning to college in a week so my favorite part is seeing all my friends and all the new school supplies!
ReplyDeleteI am happy for school to start! Back to our routine and finally a clean house!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE ECHO PAPER BLOG HOP!
ReplyDeleteOne grand daughter begins high school, another kindergarten - very exciting time for us.
ReplyDeleteWorking retail, its always fun to see the kids picking out their new school supplies and clothes, but I will be thankful for the brief slowdown between the start of school and the Holiday rush!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the routine of school, but I miss summer already.
ReplyDeleteschool has already started here. I never look forwrd to it because i'm not ready for summer to be over, i don't like having to get up earlier in order to get the kiddos to school and the hassle of all the school traffic and then there's the HOMEWORK!!!!!!! I could do without that! and I know my son hates it more than me.
ReplyDeleteAs a part-time working mom, summer is very difficult for me. I'm looking forward to the schedule again!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work!
Jennifer
I look forward to the school year...I love that the kids learn new things everyday...I can use all the help with this...lol
ReplyDeleteI am not looking forward to making lunches every morning, and the fight about homework.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute page. One thing I am not looking forward to at the start of school is all the school and school bus traffic!
ReplyDeleteGreat layout!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest starts kindergarten in 2 weeks! =(
He's so excited and so looking forward to going to school like his sister.
Beautifule!
ReplyDeleteFantastic layout!

What a lovely page! So much like school pages and no small kids around anymore.
ReplyDeletelove your layout I'm not looking forward to school starting mainly because it means the summer is over already and that just means I'm one school year closer to having my babies go to school lol :(

ReplyDeleteDe bien belles pages sur ton blog que je découvre. biz
ReplyDeleteMagali
Great layout...love the different images from this kit.
ReplyDeleteLove the cute layout! I do not enjoy the back to school season as it reminds me too much of the lot of snow we will be seeing extremely soon and that winter is fast approaching!
ReplyDeleteSchool is fun for the grandkids....time for me to have fun with the little ones!!
ReplyDeleteI am expecting my first child later this year so have not yet had the experience to know the excitement of kids heading off to school but there is nothing cuter than my sisters kids in their uniforms all ready to go :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great details!!
ReplyDeleteI am NOT looking forward to it, I commute to a job in th DC suburb, and school in session makes the traffic much worse:(
ReplyDeleteSo looking forward for school to start...yes there us a big change in the kids. I'm a grandmother and this yr 3 will be in school. The younger one its her first year...she's excited. The older two are too.
ReplyDeleteBut this would be great for them. Along with new school pictures, Sports, etc.
Cool page about your son - so perfect for these EP papers...and I know exactly what you mean about time going by so fast!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the school year because I think we all need a routine again, and I actually eat MUCH better when the kids aren't around - I tend to eat their leftovers - tsk, tsk. ;)
Great layout. I'm not looking forward to the early mornings.
ReplyDeleteWell in NZ we are in the middle of a school term and winter, so looking forward to the summer and holidays.
ReplyDeleteCute line. Love those bright colors. Last year in high school for my eldest. Yikes! Can't beleive that my baby will soon be old enough to go away to university!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to school starting again for all the teachers and children who really LOVE school and can't wait to get back to it. That's how I used to feel when it was time to go back.I don't way anyone in school now.All my connections have aged out(daughter, niece, and nephew)or too young(great nephew who's two).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great layout! I am always so inspired by your stuff! My daughter heads off for grade 5 in a few weeks, I can't believe it. Where DOES the time go?
ReplyDeleteNice layout smarty pants! ;) I am not looking forward to school starting again because of the traffic jams. I can miss all of that if I leave the house earlier or take the bus. Thanks for sharing on this hop.
ReplyDeletejellybeankahler@yahoo.com
Listening to weekly reports from my granddaughter. Wondering if she was in trouble for talking to much.
ReplyDeletegreat layout!!!I'm not looking forward to school starting again because it means that summer is gone!!
ReplyDeleteListening to stories about schoolthings is always fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm from NZ so our school starts in February, but I am looking forward to this school term ending as we're off on a family holiday.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to having a regular family schedule again!
ReplyDeleteI'm not looking forward to early mornings and making lunches!
ReplyDeleteI'm a university student so for me university will start again in October and I am looking forward to it because it's the semester in which I will write my state exam term paper, which means that I'm almost finished with me university career ;) Yayy
ReplyDeleteI am not looking forward to getting my son out of bed in the morning, but I am looking forward to him getting to see more of his friends. Great LO!!!
ReplyDeleteMy commute to work is longer because of the heavier traffic that comes with the beginning of a new school year. But I don't mind, really, as children going to school is a GOOD THING! :0) And sweet layout ... right down to the "paper" paper clips!!
ReplyDeletewonderful layout. you captured it! thank you for sharing. rush88888 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to school starting because I have a few painting projects to tackle here at home & it's much easier with no kids around!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
I love this page and how you documented his school project!
ReplyDeleteOur school started this week and the only reason I am not looking forward to it is the drive to and from school . . . oh, I forgot to tell you I am a school bus driver LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhen you don't have kids, it doesn't really make much of a difference when school starts, except that they just dropped the speed limit even more in school zones. That will take a bit of getting used to.
ReplyDeleteyour layout is very cute!!!
ReplyDeletenot looking forward to starting again because I am a part time tutor and that mean my day time is occupied, thus less time for crafting.
ReplyDeleteCute layout!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the summer flew by so fast and the kids are going back in a week. I'm not looking forward to making 3 school lunches :(
I am looking forward to routine again. Dawn F.
ReplyDeleteCute LO, love the stitching and little paper clips :) I'm not looking forward to it - this will be my daughter's first day of kindergarten and I'm wayyyyy more nervous and scared for her than I need to be.. I'm a perpetual worry-wart!
ReplyDeleteWhile i love the freedom summer allows my kids, i am looking forward to them having a schedule to follow and earlier bedtimes!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the first day of preschool, I can now spend more one on one time with the baby. Love your layout, thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDelete
