Fun and Inspiring

Have you ever walked into a room and had a completely overwhelming feeling of "fun?" A room that just makes you smile? A room that makes you want to create? Create something 'fun,' for lack of a better word? I don't know that I had been in a room quite like that...until last Saturday. My friend, Cynthea, invited me to hang out with her at the design room in her office building. That's what she calls it - her design room. I call it heaven. seriously. It was the most incredibly fun studio I've ever seen -- the walls are painted bright, fun, crisp, clean colors. I'm talking bright pink, lime green, purple -- lovely! Not only that, but Cynthea is just a fun, bright, talented, happy, generous, considerate person...and I'm so lucky to be able to call her my friend!

Anyway....I didn't get a lot of creating done - because I was too busy admiring her studio (and visiting and taking care of a 7 week old baby and eating and chatting etc. etc. etc.). I did make a cover for a mini-book I'm so excited to put together next month ala Stacy Julian - love that lady too!! It's super simple, but the fabulous products make it perfect! It was so much fun hanging out with a great friend - I didn't even care that I got lost on the way there and got clear out practically to Magna before I realized where I was, LOL! It was totally worth it. I haven't felt so inspired in a long time -- quite refreshing...I highly recommend it to everyone! A great way to spend a Saturday!

Hope you find some fun inspiration today! :)

bored???

"Mom, I'm bored." huh? who gets bored? I have a whole list of things she can do, of course, it's mostly housework that she doesn't want to do....yet, she insists on telling me, on a somewhat regular basis, that she's bored. Oh Meagan.....you just wait - enjoy the time in your life when you can BE bored and it's ok!! It won't be very long until the days aren't long enough to fit in everything that you have to do...there just won't be time to be bored. LOL Oh, and thank goodness you have THIS website to help entertain you! You know, now that I think about it, it would be wonderful to be bored!!! :o) Maybe another day....

Feels like Monday...

Long weekends are great....unfortunately, it just seems to delay Monday for one more day. I know it's Tuesday, but for all intents and purposes it feels like Monday. The kids are back at school, Brad is back to work (though he actually did work part of the day yesterday), the house looks like the weekend just ended (in other words, in desperate need of picking up and wiping down!), and I just feel like it's Monday! Oh well - since it's really Tuesday, the weekend is actually closer than it feels, right? Gotta keep that glass half full! :)

So, here's what we did yesterday, on our day off:

Brad worked on getting the snow cleared, Meagan and Josh froze their noses off playing outside with the neighbors,

Seth and Zach stayed inside with me, where it was a little warmer than 12 degrees, relaxing, playing, and watched the others freezing outside! Yep, we're the only sane ones!! Later in the day, I was lucky enough to have some time to work on our taxes, yep...good times! We're having computer issues at our house, luckily, my little bro is willing to come over whenever we need him and fix whatever I've messed up! Lucky me! :)

Well, happy Monday (er, I mean TUESDAY)! Here's hoping to warmer temps, happy kids, clean homes, and non-tempermental computers!!

Scrubbed!

So, I might be a little strange, but I am now admitting to the world that I find a true satisfaction in having a freshly scrubbed bathroom. While I don't particularly enjoy cleaning the bathroom, I LOVE being able to step back when it's done and look at everything sparkling back at me, LOL! It's been a while since I've given our tub and shower a good deep cleaning - with being pregnant (read 'fat and uncomfortable and barely able to bend over the side of the tub to bathe Seth, let along SCRUB the tub) and then with having a new baby and just trying to do the 'basics' for a while, it just didn't happen. Until today. Now I am happy to say I've finally scrubbed it down! Really it wasn't completely disgusting - we've been using the bathroom every day and the kids have been taking baths - it's been wiped down (toilets HAVE been scrubbed) and it's been kept somewhat orderly, just not scrubbed! Now it is - it looks great and it smells clean and I can't wait to take a long hot bath and relax tonight! (That's another thing I've been missing since I had Zach - long hot baths!)

Maybe I'll even soak long enough to finish the book mom gave me to read. I'm a huge Anita Stansfield fan - something about her books always makes me feel good. Her stories have a way of making me feel truly thankful for the gospel, for my husband, my family, and all of the blessings I have. :) Oh, they always make me cry too - nothing like a good, healthy cry!

...a long hot bath and a great book while Brad takes care of the kiddos -- sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Saturday night to me!

Four Kids, One Photo!

You would think I would have tons of pictures of all the kiddos together....but I only have a couple -- YOU should try getting four kids to sit still long enough to actually take a photo! LOL On Valentine's Day, I bribed the kids with presents and candy, and they held still long enough for a couple of quick pics -- not the greatest quality pictures, but nice to have all four of them together at one time, holding relatively still, and smiling, somewhat. ;)

So we're trying to decide what to do for Spring Break this year. With a new baby, the options are limited. We'll probably end up down in St. George again, assuming we can get the condo for the week...right now anyplace warm and sunny is sounding incredibly wonderful! Don't get me wrong, I love the snow - but the COLD, I could do without!!

Today's agenda includes getting this scrapbooking area organized. I can't do it ALL today, but I'd love to be able to make a dent in it....get rid of some of the stacks and start on another "give away" box. :)

Jumping into Blogdom

So, here I am...finally entering the world of blogs. Not sure why, just seems like the thing to do! Now if I can only figure out how to get it to work! Here's a layout I put together last night - Meagan LOVES her American Girl doll. Marisol, she got for Christmas. (OK, really I just wanted to see if I could figure out how to post a picture...I think it worked - but she DOES look awfully cute with her doll, huh?!?)
