places, things, and love letters...

I can't believe today is the last day of my month-long challenge over on the Making Memories Blog!
After you complete todays challenges, you'll have a complete album all about everything you love!
I actually had to turn in all of my text and images several weeks ago, and I didn't have my album complete at that time. Because of that reason, there are only a couple of images on today's post over there. I'd like to share the rest of my album that I have completed since my earlier deadline.
First of all, here's a reminder about what the "places" tab looks like.

Behind the places tab you'll find several pages about different places I love.

home (with a twist):

the temple:

my hometown (this is the only 2-page spread in the album):

the pond (my parents own the most incredible piece of property in the mountains above our homes - it's so peaceful and beautiful up there.):

The next section is for the "things" I love:

cake(more specifically chocolate cake with vanilla frosting):
Obviously I haven't baked a cake in a while...so no photo yet...maybe later today I will bake...mmmmmm....

photos:

PJ's (again, I haven't taken a photo for this one yet, but my love for my pj's is so deep, I couldn't leave them out!):

scrapbooking (of course):

And a big huge list of lots of other miscellaneous things I love (it was so fun to sit down and just start writing - at first I was worried I was writing too small and I wouldn't be able to think of enough things to fill up the page, but once I got started the ideas just kept coming and I think I could have filled up another entire page!)

And finally, the very last page, which is a pocket page:

Here's the page without the envelopes:

I wrote a "love letter" of sorts to each of my children and my husband.
I embellished the envelopes, write the notes, and tucked them inside:

Instead of giving each person their envelope and letter to keep, I am going to keep them all together in this pocket - of course they can look at their letters anytime they want to be reminded of how much they are loved - but after they're done reading, the envelope will go right back into the pocket:

I created this entire album "on assignment." But I can honestly say it is one of the best things I've ever created. Not because I think it's amazing in it's design or craftsmanship...but because it is a literal collection of all the things I love. A tangible piece of my heart - ready to share with those I love most.
If you're considering creating an album like this one, I definitely want to encourage you to do it. You'll enjoy the process almost as much as the finished product - you'll become more aware of everything that is good in your life. You can gather up all of those good things and tie them up with a bow - a bow ready to be untied and flood your heart with love over and over again!

  1. I so love this album. It is next on my to do list. I read a long time ago about a woman who left letters for each of her children when she died, in each one she told why she loved that child "best". Your cards in the pocket page reminded me of it. So that's where I'm going to put my letters to my kids!

  4. Wendy,

Thank you for sharing this wonderful "love" album. Too bad all good things have to come to an end. I have been waiting every Thursdays to see the next part of your album. I was stuck on the people part, I may just have to add one more page for the pets in my family. Then I will get to work on the places and things which you gave such wonderful examples.
Thank you for this challenge - my first challenge ever.
