like I'd been hit by a truck...

Yep, hit by a truck...that pretty much sums up how I was feeling last night. It started with a dull headache during dinner, and quickly escalated to a pounding headache, accompanied with yucky body aches and horrible nausea. Fun night, huh? I went from fine to terrible in a matter of an hour and then basically laid like a rock in my bed until 4:00 am this morning. Brad left for work at 4:00...and I hit the medicine cabinet - and the pantry...can't go taking Excedrin on an empty stomach, you know.

The Excedrin Migraine helped tremendously. By 10:30 am, I was feeling much better - well enough to drive to Provo to run some errands. I actually picked up the kids from school an hour before the final bell rang (around 1:15) so I wouldn't have to worry about making arrangements for them - and I would have plenty of time to run the errands and be back in time to make dinner before my nephew's birthday party at 6:00 pm.

I started at the Scout store because our new cub scout needed a shirt, scarf, and manual. After dropping over $60 for the basics, we were on our way. Our next scheduled stop was the Distribution Center in Orem. Brad wanted some new white pants before Josh's baptism on Saturday, so we were planning to make a quick stop for those, then Deseret book, and then Target. We were right on track for our quick trip. The little guys were taking a little snooze in their car seats, Meagan and Josh were each reading, and mom and I were chatting, sitting in a line of cars stopped at a red light on University Parkway, only a couple of blocks from our destination....then, it happened. I was literally HIT BY A TRUCK!!! Can you believe it?!? I couldn't. But, dang, the noise was loud!! Okay, it wasn't actually a truck, it was a van. A white van with a crazy lady driving it. Okay, she probably wasn't actually crazy, but it's my story, so I'm going with crazy.

So, anyway, I'll spare you the boring details, like how it took the cops over half an hour to get there (next time I'm totally telling the 911 operator that someone might be hurt so they'll hurry their keisters up), how the crazy lady asked to borrow my cell phone four times while we were sitting in the middle of the street (while she was yelling at her kid to sit down -- and he was hanging half way out the window, enjoying the breeze from the traffic whizzing by us), how when the cop finally arrived he was all la-dee-dah...please pull over into the RC Willey parking lot, how he didn't have the right "forms" so it took extra long to process the paper work, OH, WAIT, I'm not sparing you any of the details here, am I?!?

Anyway, many eons later, we finally ran all of our errands and made it home with half an hour to spare before the birthday party. Luckily, the kids were satisfied with birthday cake and ice cream for dinner. Just kidding - we hit the local Arbys for dinner AFTER we had yummy sweets at the party.

And that's the story of how, in the last 24 hours, I felt like I was hit by a truck...then I was hit by a truck...and now I feel like I was hit by two trucks...tomorrow will be a better day, I am sure!

P.S. After we got home from Provo, I hurried to take a couple of photos of the damage to my bumper (for insurance) and my neighbor walked over and said "What are you going to do, scrapbook pictures of your license plate?" ha ha, very funny...but maybe...
