autumn treat tubes | doodlebug design

I was super excited when I found out that one of my doodlebug design team assignments this month was to create a project inspired by a project from the Doodlebug Pinterest boards, created by one of my fellow design team members!

This is the project I created:

I was inspired by this pin – a washi tape project created by the oh-so-talented Kathy Martin!

I wanted to use the Happy Harvest collection to create some fun seasonal treat tubes to share with some friends. (eta: I can’t find these exact tubes, but here is a link to some that are very similar.)

I started by wrapping the tubes with washi tape.

Then I tied some of the designer flags from the pixies collection onto each tube with colorful doodle twine.

The tops of the tubes were the perfect size to add a doodad – aren’t they the cutest?!?

And, finally, I filled each tube with some seasonally appropriate candies – I used sixlets, reese’s pieces, and rolos – yummy!

Have you checked out the Doodlebug Pinterest boards?  Hope over and take a peek – see what you’re inspired to create!

i’m thankful | a pocket page layout…

Hello Friends!  Today is Tuesday, but it feels more like a Friday since it’s the last day of school for the kids this week.  I have a list a mile long – all things I need to do before that final bell rings later this afternoon – but before I head out the door to tackle my pre-Thanksgiving to-do list I wanted to share this quick and easy scrapbook layout I created with Echo Park’s “Oh So Thankful” Collection and their Photo Freedom Pocket Pages:

I’m so thankful for this crowd!

Some of the details:

I added little enamel dots (similar to these) to some of the cards – they add a fun little bit of texture and interest without overwhelming the design:

Of course, there are a few foam squares popping up stickers and elements here and there!

And I put my handy, dandy tiny attacher to work – LOVE this tool!

A little bit of machine stitching and a few buttons add to the comfy-cozy feeling…don’t ‘cha think?

Thanks for taking a peek – I hope you feel inspired to create a quick layout about your family – or something else you are thankful for this week!

gratitude cards | lilybee design…

Just had to share another set of fun “gratitude” cards I blogged about earlier this week over on the lilybee design blog (here).

A closer look at the cards:

You’ll probably notice I used that same polaroid frame from top dog dies – I’m just loving it!

The frames are actually cut from the 3x4 cards!

I cut the word “grateful” a couple of different ways using my silhouette cameo.

And, of course, I used the new “Urban Autumn” collection from Lilybee to create each card – I just love the fun colors – pinks and oranges and grays for autumn – happy colors!

I pulled out some washi tape and wood embellishments too!

Happy Friday! :)

i sure do love my little turkeys…

Today, over on the Bella Blvd blog, we are sharing ideas focusing on a fun trend – feathers!  I just couldn’t resist creating a cute little turkey for my project.  I mean seriously…a “feather” assignment the week before Thanksgiving…doesn’t that just scream TURKEY to you?!?

Of course, I used the Bella Blvd Feathers – aren’t the colors fun and bright:

And one of my all time “silly” pics of my kiddos:

These stickers are one of my favorite fonts too:

Be sure to visit the Bella Blvd blog for lots of other ideas featuring feathers…but be warned, there are not any more turkeys…I’m the only dorky one to think of making a turkey. ;)
