amm chat...

Thanks again to all the fun gals at A Million Memories - it was so fun to chat with you all!
I thought I was a fast typist...but I still couldn't keep up, lol!

As promised, Making Memories has kindly offered to send a selection of my favorite Halloween items to one lucky winner. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I'll draw a winner on Monday!
(And I see a few of you got to my blog faster than I did and posted on the previous entry -
don't worry, I'll be sure to include your names too.)

As soon as our chat was over I headed to Park City for one last crop night at Gone Scrappin'. I didn't actually accomplish anything, but I had a great time visiting with friends from my neighborhood, catching up a bit with Wendy Bird, shopping, laughing, and just having a fun night out!
Edited 10/01/07: I will draw a winner at 5:00 pm MST, so be sure to check back tonight!!

pull up a chair...

...at your computer tonight and chat with me and the gals at A Million Memories tonight at 6:00 PST (that's 7:00 my time)! :o) I'll be there representing Making Memories! I've never participated in an on-line chat before, so hopefully I'll be able to figure it all out and not bore everyone away!! Hope to see you there!

Oh, and here are a few of the layouts I created with the brand new MM Halloween line to share at AMM this week!

I just love these Halloween products - so fun and easy to work with!!!

like I'd been hit by a truck...

Yep, hit by a truck...that pretty much sums up how I was feeling last night. It started with a dull headache during dinner, and quickly escalated to a pounding headache, accompanied with yucky body aches and horrible nausea. Fun night, huh? I went from fine to terrible in a matter of an hour and then basically laid like a rock in my bed until 4:00 am this morning. Brad left for work at 4:00...and I hit the medicine cabinet - and the pantry...can't go taking Excedrin on an empty stomach, you know.

The Excedrin Migraine helped tremendously. By 10:30 am, I was feeling much better - well enough to drive to Provo to run some errands. I actually picked up the kids from school an hour before the final bell rang (around 1:15) so I wouldn't have to worry about making arrangements for them - and I would have plenty of time to run the errands and be back in time to make dinner before my nephew's birthday party at 6:00 pm.

I started at the Scout store because our new cub scout needed a shirt, scarf, and manual. After dropping over $60 for the basics, we were on our way. Our next scheduled stop was the Distribution Center in Orem. Brad wanted some new white pants before Josh's baptism on Saturday, so we were planning to make a quick stop for those, then Deseret book, and then Target. We were right on track for our quick trip. The little guys were taking a little snooze in their car seats, Meagan and Josh were each reading, and mom and I were chatting, sitting in a line of cars stopped at a red light on University Parkway, only a couple of blocks from our destination....then, it happened. I was literally HIT BY A TRUCK!!! Can you believe it?!? I couldn't. But, dang, the noise was loud!! Okay, it wasn't actually a truck, it was a van. A white van with a crazy lady driving it. Okay, she probably wasn't actually crazy, but it's my story, so I'm going with crazy.

So, anyway, I'll spare you the boring details, like how it took the cops over half an hour to get there (next time I'm totally telling the 911 operator that someone might be hurt so they'll hurry their keisters up), how the crazy lady asked to borrow my cell phone four times while we were sitting in the middle of the street (while she was yelling at her kid to sit down -- and he was hanging half way out the window, enjoying the breeze from the traffic whizzing by us), how when the cop finally arrived he was all la-dee-dah...please pull over into the RC Willey parking lot, how he didn't have the right "forms" so it took extra long to process the paper work, OH, WAIT, I'm not sparing you any of the details here, am I?!?

Anyway, many eons later, we finally ran all of our errands and made it home with half an hour to spare before the birthday party. Luckily, the kids were satisfied with birthday cake and ice cream for dinner. Just kidding - we hit the local Arbys for dinner AFTER we had yummy sweets at the party.

And that's the story of how, in the last 24 hours, I felt like I was hit by a truck...then I was hit by a truck...and now I feel like I was hit by two trucks...tomorrow will be a better day, I am sure!

P.S. After we got home from Provo, I hurried to take a couple of photos of the damage to my bumper (for insurance) and my neighbor walked over and said "What are you going to do, scrapbook pictures of your license plate?" ha ha, very funny...but maybe...

education week at mm...

This week is education week on the MM blog...and today is my turn! My assignment was to use foam stamps and paint - you can peek here if you want. :)
P.S. Did you know that Gone Scrappin' is going out of business? They're having clearance sales now...here's a LINK if you want to shop!

96 days...

...not that I'm counting or anything. But can you believe there are only 96 days until Christmas!?!? What, you're not counting down yet?!? Okay, then you'll probably want to ignore me when I mention that I'll be blasting Holiday tunes through my speakers in just over a month -- yes, I start listening to holiday tunes full-time right after Halloween. I love Christmas music. LOVE it.
So...just in case you are ready to start thinking about Christmas, I thought I'd share a few things. I received my copy of the latest Making Memories Idea book last week. I have a few projects in it, and I'm excited to incorporate these into our holiday celebrations this year. Especially the countdown wreath!

There are tons of easy to do projects by really talented designers in this book. Some projects might look a little familiar (at least they did to me), but most of them are completely new and fresh!
Okay, now I promise not to talk about Christmas again...at least for a few weeks...maybe...

room to room...

Have you seen this special issue from Paper Crafts yet? If you have, you already know how fabulous it is. If you haven't, you must!! There are so many "do-able" projects and they don't look "homemade." Not that homemade is a bad thing, of course, but they really look nice -- items you'd be proud to display in your home. Really! I am excited to try a few out for myself - I'll share when I do!

I was lucky enough to have a few of my projects included in this special issue - one that you may have seen several months ago on my blog...

Oh, and the photos are WAAAAAAY better than these, of course...mine were most likely taken at 3:00 am under my nice cieling lights. ;)

If you've seen this book, I'd love to hear which projects were your faves. I'll share some of my favorites soon!

So…it’s been a while, eh? I just finished up an assignment for MM (yes, it's just before 6:00 am) and since the kids will be awake in less than two hours, I’m opting out of sleep for tonight. I actually do much better on NO sleep than I do on a little bit of sleep. I know, I’m weird. So I thought I’d do a quick update and then go down and put the treadmill to good use!

Anyway… I don’t have any excuses to share in regards to my absence – no tragedies, no excitement, nothing out of the ordinary – I just took a little blogging break. :o) Thanks for the kind e-mails and inquiries – sorry to leave anyone hanging!

So…it’s been about a month since I’ve blogged – here’s a quick run-down…

*I had a birthday! (By the way, thanks for the well wishes and happy birthday thoughts here and on the MM blog)
*The kids went back to school!

*We enjoyed a trip or two to the lake
*Family reunion
*Josh’s birthday
*A little shopping

*A little baking
*Lots of work
*Time with family

*Time with friends

See…same old stuff! You didn’t miss much – but I’ll try to be better about updating!

Have a great day!
