For today...

We got an offer on our house already!! I think we're in a state of shock because it sold so quickly, but we're excited and feel like it was really time for a change for us. So we have TONS of stuff to do in the next few weeks...I can't believe I have to pack everything I own and be somewhere else in a month! It's crazy. We've lived here for almost 12 years (we started building this house a few months after we got married) so we've never really had to move before. I'm nervous, but so excited for what lies ahead. :O)

So, Mom...if you're reading, and anyone else who is interested, you might want to take a look at this today! I was so excited to be asked to do the challenge for the Making Memories blog this week, especially when it meant I could make a layout all about my favorite mom ever! :) My list of lessons had to be shortened, so I'll add them all here, in case you want to know what I know (*wink*). I love you Mom!! Happy Mother's Day!

You are responsible for your own happiness…don’t depend on anyone else to make you happy.

A house can be cleaned (spotless) by 10:00 a.m. – then you have the rest of the day to do whatever else you want or need to do. (Oh, and when the job is finished, you should reward yourself with a treat…like Pepsi and Peanuts when you finish!)

“Any job worth doing is worth doing right.”

Sing. Just sing.

Choose your battles wisely. There are not a lot of things that are worth a fight. When something is worth fighting for…give it all you have.

Spend time with your kids when they are little – they WILL remember the little things you do. Even if they forget the details, they will remember being loved and being important to you.

Be creative whenever you can - it just feels good.

A beautiful flower bed in your front yard will make you happy. It might be a lot of work, but that makes the sight of it all the more satisfying.

Chocolate helps almost everything. Of course, chocolate in all of it’s many forms (candy bars, shakes, fudge, hot cocoa, brownies, etc) are eligible for this rule & if one form doesn’t help, try another one! ;)

Always put your family first. Always. If your priorities are in the right order, everything will fall into place.

When you’re really excited about something (like, say, finally getting cable TV and the Disney channel), it’s a-okay to be silly and dance around the room and even dance on the coffee table!! :o)

When you do something and your kids think it’s neat and ask where you learned it..tell them you learned it when you were in the army. J

Take time to play.

Work Hard.

And there's a lot more too, Thanks again Mom! OH, and if anyone takes my challenge, I'd love to see your layout - post in on the MM website when it's ready. :)
