hello spring {a doodlebug layout} AND a giveaway too…

I am so excited to share a project with you today!  It just so happens that today is my turn to play “hostess” over on the Doodlebug blog today – and that means I get to share a project with the Doodlebug Blog followers AND my very own blog followers…and I also get to host a GIVEAWAY!  yay!

I received the new product lines last Friday and I just couldn’t wait to play with this brand new collection, “Hello Spring” over the weekend (when it was windy and rainy and I was longing for Springtime weather again)!

I used several of the patterned papers (mostly the “b” sides…except for this darling bird paper, which is my very favorite of the entire collection!) to create the color-blocked background.

I used several of the sticker embellishments too – love the fancy frills border stickers (some are fun and sparkly!) and the cute glittered butterfly stickers.  You’ll also spy some of the coordinating buttons.

I love using punched shapes to create a really subtle pattern (like I did on the green patterned paper block above – simply punch circles and line up the patterns, then attach).  I added a few mini pearls on the green circles – and on the birdhouse stickers below…love the sweet detail they add!

The stickers in this collection are some of my favorite ever, and I may have gone a little bit sticker-wild.  Oh well…I’m not sorry! ;)

These stickers are also glittered (for the title), but it’s hard to see it in the photo.  I punched a couple of tabs from the 6x6 paper pad and tucked one above the title…I needed a little bit of green up there.

I like to hand journal on my pages and this multi-color lined paper in the 6x6 pad was the perfect choice for adding a journaling block.  I used a border punch to add the notebook edge and I like how it looks layered on another piece, and popped up slightly with foam squares.  I couldn’t resist another sticker and pearl combo.
