it doesn’t get any better (a layout)…

It’s been a year since this layout was published in the January 2012 issue of Scrapbook Trends magazine, so I thought I’d share it here on my blog.  I wrote an article about using fabric on a scrapbook page and this is one of the layouts I created for that article.

I just love how fabric adds a bit of softness and a “homemade” feeling to a layout.

I used my Slice die-cut machine to cut out the bird applique and the letters.  After cutting the shapes, I used my sewing machine to stitch around the edges of each piece before applying them to my page.

By the way, if you’re interested, you can purchase the January 2012 Scrapbook Trends digital issue OR the print issue right now for less than $5 (here).

Have a great day!  Hope you’re staying warmer than I am…although today’s current temperature of 5 degrees sure beats yesterday’s morning temp of 17 degrees BELOW zero!!! :)

  1. It's a beautiful LO, Wendy. The fabric adds some great texture. I feel your pain with the cold weather. It isn't much better here in WI. Wind is blowing and it is CHILLY.. about 8 above.

  2. Great layout. I love the softness of it too. Gotta love Utah huh? I'm on the Idaho border and they canceled school here because it was -22 yesterday morning. I'm thinking Arizona...
