if you are you looking for a scrappy challenge…

…please check out the challenge I shared on Two Peas today!  It’s a color challenge and I was inspired by one of my very favorite things – can you guess what it is from the image below?   (you can see what my inspiration is right here!).

Here’s a little peek at the layout I made based on my color inspiration:

You can see the details HERE on Two Peas in a Bucket.  I’d love for you to play along – and there will be a prize awarded next week too! :o)

christmas card 2011…

For some reason, I struggled with getting in the mood to do some of the “regular” holiday stuff this year…like Christmas cards.  I actually made the decision NOT to send out Christmas cards this year.  However, when I mentioned this to my sweet husband, I could tell I had made the WRONG choice.  So, the week before Christmas I started searching online for a cute (EASY) template so I could just drop in a photo, upload to Costco, and pick up to mail off.  This was my first attempt:

Then I tried this template:

Next, I tried this one:

And finally, I found this template.  It took a little more work, but I was really pleased with the result.  I’ve never been a big fan of the “Holiday Letter" but I thought this was kind of a fun way to sum up our year without getting all long-winded and “braggy…”2011_christmas_card

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas day.  We enjoyed our day immensely – the kids were up early.  They had to ask us several times to get up so they could open their gifts from Santa.  We gathered in the living room and enjoyed opening gifts (photos to come).  Since it was so early, and I was working on the 2nd day of a Migraine (Merry Christmas and Christmas Eve to me Sad smile), I went back to bed to sleep for a couple more hours.  We all went to church at 11:00 – Grandma and Grandpa joined us since our meeting was 2 hours earlier than theirs – and enjoyed a beautiful meeting.  We all went over to Grandma and Grandpa’s home for a  wonderful lunch and gift exchange with family.  We were lucky to have some of our cousins come back over to our house for a while to play and visit.  We ended the day watching movies and eating yummy food.  It was a truly wonderful Christmas day.  And now I’m looking forward to spending the week with our kiddos…looking forward to celebrating New Year’s day in one short week! :o)

holiday gift set…

I just realized I hadn’t shared this quick and easy little project here yet.  I put this set together using all Doodlebug Design products…I am loving the teal/red/pink combo lately.

It really didn’t take me long to make this set and it is the perfect combo for a teacher gift…a little box full of yummy treats and a coordinating gift card holder. :0)
