father’s day cards and envelopes | pebbles inc…

Hello friends!  Today, I'm sharing a couple of colorful cards and coordinating envelopes I made for Father's Day.  I know it's kind of non-traditional to use colors and designs like this...but Father's Day shares the first day of summer this year - so it's extra appropriate, don't you think, to use the "Fun in the Sun" collection?  I have two special dads in my life - mine and my kids' -  so I made one card for Grandpa and one card for Dad!wendysue_fathersday_cardset_filtered    After I made the cards, using the popsicle cards, I decided to use the Envelope Punch Board to create coordinating envelopes for the cards.  To top it off, I wanted to use the popsicle patterned paper to line the envelopes!  Here's what I did:

First - I made the envelopes (two of them) according to the instructions on the punch board (I used the measurements for the 4 1/2" x 6" card):wendysue_fathersday_cardset_tutorial1

   Next, I cut a second, smaller envelope (using the instructions for a 4 1/2" x 5" card)

The next step is to trim off the smaller sides:

And cut the piece in half to create two envelope liners:

Next, I rounded the corners on the top of the liners:

And attached the liners to the insides of the envelopes:

That's it!  And now I have two cards all ready to give to the two coolest pops I know!!

cards adorned with paper doilies | a doodlebug design project…

Hello Friends!  I wanted to share a project I created for the Doodlebug blog recently with Doodlebug Doilies!  I love using the colorful doilies (in BOTH sizes) on layouts, gift packages, and especially cards.  I created this card set using one of my all-time favorite collections, "Day to Day."

After creating two card bases from white cardstock, I layered on several different patterned papers from this collection.  Then I chose two coordinating doilies to add on top of the papers.  One of my FAVORITE things about Doodlebug products is how they all coordinate.  From the very first collections they created, to the latest papers rolling off the press, the colors are consistent...which means the embellishments can be mixed an matched and used with all of the collections!

For this card set, I chose to use swimming pool paper doilies and bon bon mini doilies.

After layering the doilies, I added some stickers, pixies, and sprinkles.

To finish things off, I tied bon bon doodle twine around the pixie sticks.

Now it's your turn - choose some of the new doilies and pull out one of your favorite doodlebug collections - old OR new - and get to work!
