on a golden springtime…

I wanted to share this layout – I created it for Echo Park Paper and it was published in the April issue of Scrapbook Generation’s Create Magazine.

wendysue_springtime_sketch_layout

I was given a really fun sketch to work with – I love working with sketches.  Guess what?  You can download the magazine – AND all of the sketches – here.  And the best part…it’s FREE!

I loved being able to see how other gals interpreted the same sketch  -  it’s always so interesting to see how we can all start at square one – but end up at totally different final destinations!

Just for fun, here a few details from my pages:

Head on over and take a peek at the digital magazine here – there’s lots of inspiration inside! :)

love you dearly…

I can’t believe I forgot to share this layout on my blog!  Sheesh – what was I thinking?  I had so much fun using my new stamps and dies from Paper Smooches to document these pictures of Seth from oh so many years ago…wendysue_deer_layout1

Aren’t toddler feet the cutest?!?

I’m not a fancy schmancy stamper – but I can color…I used chalk to color this cute deer.

The tag die is awesome – so versatile and I know I’ll be using it a ton.  And those feathers – ahh, love them – especially with the backgrounds stamped on the paper before I cut them out.

Thanks for stopping by – and if you aren’t already following the Paper Smooches blog – you really should…there are super fun stamping ideas there every single day – and Kim shares “fun facts” regularly – they are always worth stopping in for!!

Happy Tuesday!

hello there–a shaker card…

Good Monday morning!  Over the weekend, some of the op Dog Dies  design team members participated in a fun blog hop with Top Dog Dies and Pretty Pink Posh.  I was a little late for the hop, but wanted to share a shaker card with you anyway!

I used the new "Capture Life” collection, along with the Top Dog Dies Heart Mini Album and Finishers die cuts.   And, of course, the fun sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh!

twirly girl products for a boy layout…

When you hear the name “twirly girl” for a scrapbook paper collection, the last thing you would think is, “how could I use that for my BOYS?”  Right?  Well, let me answer that for you…  You see, you take elements out of the collection, and put them together like this:

wendysueanderson_chickaniddy_twirlygirl_disneyland_layout_detail4

and this:

wendysueanderson_chickaniddy_twirlygirl_disneyland_layout_detail1

and this:

wendysueanderson_chickaniddy_twirlygirl_disneyland_layout_detail2

and even this:

And eventually, you’ll end up with a layout that might look something like this:

And then you’ll realize what a silly question that was to begin with! ;)

a doodlebug birthday–pocket page style…

Have you jumped on board with the pocket-page style of scrapbooking?  You probably already know that I like to mix it in here and there with my regular pages.  I recently shared this layout over on the Doodlebug Inc. blog:wendysue_doodlebug_hiphiphooray_pocketpage_layout1

I used their 4x6 vertical photo protector page...along with the super fun, super happy, super colorful "hip hip hooray" collection.
