weekend snippets…

{I haven’t been good about recording any of our everyday/family stuff…so I’m going to try to be better.  You may be seeing some photos/posts about previous events as I attempt to record more family stuff from the first few months of this year.  If you’re only visiting for scrapbook related projects, feel free to skip over these posts – but know that THIS is why I scrapbook.  THIS is why I blog.  THIS is what is important to me.   My family.  Our time together.  Our memories.}

We had a pretty low-key weekend at our house, but still managed to get a few photos to record.

We were up bright and early Saturday morning because Meagan ran the “Tutu 5K” with her friend:

And they were just as cute and smiley when they were done!

Seth and Zach got out the legos and spent the bulk of the evening making “sports” related creations because they wanted to enter a contest they read about in their Lego Jr. magazine.

I didn’t get a photo of Josh on Saturday because he spent much of the day in his room reading this:

Having 1:00 church definitely has it’s advantages.  Sleeping in.  No super early “before the block” meetings.  Plenty of time for breakfast…and even lunch.  And all four kids having time to create a collaborative piece of art:

And even time for Meagan to take silly pictures of Seth with my camera:

I love finding random pictures from the kids when I download pictures – sometimes they are my FAVES.  This is probably one of those times – how funny is that face?

We also went to Grandpa & Grandma’s to celebrate Blake’s 5th birthday…but I forgot my camera.  The cake was delicious and the company was even better.  When we got home, Zach and I snuggled up on the couch and watched a movieGrandma recommended:

I don’t take the time very often to just SIT and watch a movie at home…but it was awesome to just snuggle with my baby and watch this sweet movie.  I had not read the book and wasn’t familiar with the story until my mom told us about the play she went to yesterday in Orem.  It was a sweet little movie – but not as sweet as my little viewing companion – and a great way to wrap up a good weekend.

her first flower…

I created this layout to share on the Create:Blog this week.  It’s a layout all about the very first flower Meagan received from a boy!  (besides her daddy, of course)

My inspiration for the design of this layout came from a card I spotted in the April issue of CARDS magazine!  (By the way…did you know you can purchase the digital issues of CARDS magazine for only $6.95?!?)   I love taking inspiration from cards and translating them to layouts.  You can see the card that inspired me, as well as detail images and more info. by visiting the Create:Blog!

Thanks for stopping by – have a great day! :)

surprise boxes–again…

**I have now responded to everyone who contacted me via e-mail requesting surprise boxes.  If, for some reason, you e-mailed me and haven’t heard back from me…please e-mail me again!  ;)  Thanks for such a great response – again!  I plan to have photos/prices of the stamps early next week, so check back for those!  Thank you!**

Hi all!  Just wanted to let you all know I’ve been “spring cleaning” in my scrapbook room again and I’ve put together several more “surprise boxes” (medium flat rate priority mail boxes) full of scrappy goodness!  And, just like before, when I say full, I really mean full – there’s no room for peanuts or crumpled up shipping paper – these babies are packed tight – and they are HEAVY!

surprise box

If you are interested in purchasing a surprise box, please e-mail me (wendysueanderson@hotmail.com).

It’ll work just like before:

  • Boxes are all different and all random – they may include: patterned paper, cardstock, stickers, chipboard, misc. embellishments (flowers, buttons, brads, ribbon, tags), etc. I am not going to take photos of all the product in each box (thus the term “surprise boxes”), but I promise there will be a lot more than $40 worth of product in each and every box. A lot more. Much of the product is brand new in it’s original packaging. Some things have been opened and I’ve used a portion (letter stickers, rub-ons, etc.).
  • $40 per box (which will include flat rate USPS shipping which is $10.95) Unless you are local, of course, you won't have to pay shipping and we can arrange for you to pick up your box.
  • US Shipping only (sorry international friends – it just gets too complicated (and expensive) for these boxes)
  • I will accept payments by PayPal only
  • E-mail me if you’re interested…I will sell them on a first come, first served basis
  • The boxes are packed and taped and ready to go…so as soon as your payment hits my PayPal account, I’ll print your label and ship off your box!

**I also have tons of stamps I’m ready to part with.  I’ll be taking photos and selling them individually…watch for those soon!**

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions!

Thank you!

card sketch inspiration…

Last week, while I was out of town, I had a fun card/sketch post go up on the Echo Park Blog.  This is the card I created:
ep_card_wendysue

and the sketch I based it on:

I used products from the This & That Graceful collection (you can see it all HERE.)

And here are a few of the detail shots:

Note to Self : an Echo Park design team blog hop…

Welcome to the Echo Park Paper Design Team Blog Hop!
Note-to-Self-DT-Blog-Hop-Graphic
Today the Echo Park Paper Design Team is showcasing projects from the "Note to Self" collection. I wanted to share this layout I created with a few funny photos from a family photo shoot last summer.  I love that my kids have so many cute cousins (and we just found out there’s another one on the way – yay!!).  I don’t take enough pictures of them all together…so I was glad when my friend, and our photographer (Lori Muse) captured these shots of the kids – being silly…it’s what they do best!

And here are a bunch of detail shots…so you can see more of the fun bits and pieces of this collection:

I love that big scallop border sticker…and the label stickers too:

Isn’t the number paper so fun?  And the border strip with the pointing finger is a favorite of mine as well.

And the tickets, oh the tickets…in such a great color combo:

And one last thing to mention…I love how so many of the collections have big AND little letter stickers that coordinate – love it!
note_to_self_layout_detail5
I know I say this about almost every single Echo Park Paper collection – but truly, I love this one!  You can see the entire collection HERE on the Echo Park website – and you can check it out and purchase it HERE at Two Peas in a Bucket (my favorite place to shop online for scrapbook supplies)!
And there you have it – this is the final stop on the Note to Self hop (if you started from the beginning).  If you missed any, hop back to the Echo Park Paper blog because you’re definitely going to want to visit every single stop – for inspiration AND for more chances to win!  Yes, I said WIN!
One lucky winner will be selected from each blog to receive an Echo Park Paper collection kit of their choosing. All you have to do to qualify for a chance to win is leave a comment before midnight on Wednesday (April 18th).  Tell me about the last note you wrote to yourself was for…mine was to jot down a price for a chair I’m hoping to buy for our family room…to qualify for the drawing. (It’s also helpful if you leave your e-mail address or some way to contact you if you win!)  The winner will be announced on each blog Monday, April 23 so be sure to check back to see if you've won.
Happy Monday! :o)
p.s. I just got word that something “REALLY BIG” is in the works for Echo Park Paper Co.  I have no clue what it is…but I can’t wait for the first part of May when we can find out!! ;)
