first day of fourth grade (the layout)…

A lot of people I talk to about my “job” tend to assume I’m all caught up with my family scrapbooks.  They couldn’t be more wrong.  Here’s further proof of how far behind I actually am:

This is a layout about Josh’s first day of fourth grade.  He is just starting the last term of sixth grade.  Oh well.  I am, however, so glad I blogged about that day – because that’s where my journaling came from – straight from the blog post.  I need to be better about doing those kinds of posts, otherwise, I forget the details (I’m getting too old to remember much of anything these days).

Anyway, I used products from the brand new “boys only” line by Doodlebug on this layout – I loved the colors in this collection and thought they worked perfectly with these photos.

Not only do the colors work perfectly, but the accents and embellishments were exactly what I wanted for this page.  I’ve linked all of the products I used below so you can check them out if you want to! :)

are you up for a challenge…

If you are, please check out the challenge I’m hosting over at Two Peas.  The challenge is to scraplift a Garden Girl.  I chose to use a layout by Jen Gallacher as my inspiration – you can use the same layout or choose any GG layout for your inspiration!  Click HERE for the details.

You have until midnight on Friday to post your project – a random winner will receive a gift certificate to the Two Peas shop! :)
