time for another friday slice post, some winners, and ANOTHER giveaway!!…

Do you brayer?  Or would that be: do you bray?  Either way, I have a confession to make.  I have been using the Making Memories Slice since before it was even available to purchase…and I hadn’t ever used their brayer tool until last week.

brayer

I thought it wasn’t a big deal.  I thought it wouldn’t make a hill of beans difference.  I thought I didn’t need it.  I couldn’t see how it would make cutting any easier.  Then I found out I was going to be able to give away a brayer to one of my blog readers.  I figured I should probably try it out – after all, I wouldn’t want to give away something I didn’t think was awesome.  So I tried it.  Guess what?  It is awesome.  It truly does make a difference.  I had always tried to press down my paper to a nicely coated cutting mat…and I thought I was doing a pretty good job of it…but the brayer does it WAY better than I could have done it before.  And now the cuts are smoother and more even.  So now I’m a convert.  I love my brayer.  I have used it every time I have used my Slice since that first (very skeptical) use.

Here’s a video of cute Jenny demonstrating how to use the brayer tool.  It’s pretty simple – but it truly does make a difference!

Would you like to try it?  I bet you’ll be converted too!  I have a Slice Brayer Tool to give away to one of my readers today.  Leave me a comment telling me something you were skeptical of, until you tried it…I hope I’m not the only one who is brave enough to eat her words (and skepticism) today!  I’ll leave the comments open until next Monday.  Have a great weekend!!

  2. I was skeptical that the new Slice Elite was any better than the original one. Then Making Memories gave me the chance to upgrade at a great price. So I thought, "Oh well let's just see if it's as great as they say it is." And it is! I am so glad I got it! Cuts better, quieter, faster...the works! I have been thinking about getting a brayer so thanks so much for the chance to win one!

  5. I was scepitcal about the slice spatula tool, until my husband bought it for me. I kept thinking "why? I have fingernails that will work!" The tool is fab, and no sticky bits under my fingernails from scraping the adhesive off the cutting mat! :):)

  6. I think I must be the biggest skeptic convert around here! I was very skeptical about...Scrapbooking itself. I loved handicrafts but I just wasn't bought over by the idea of buying all the costly (not to mention complicated array of) items just to create stuff for keepsakes - until I tried it, and I was hooked! :)

  7. I'm fairly new to the whole scrapbooking scene and have very few tools. I have a very limited budget so i have to be skeptical of any tool i think about getting. What is worse is that I have to plead my case in my hubby's court before i buy and he is King Skeptic about everything lol He has had to eat his words quite a few times especially when he sees how it helps me and how happy a new working tool makes me! lol The slice brayer tool and that it helps make cuts more accurate - You sold it to me!

  12. Thanks for the chance to win.

My thing that I was skeptical about has nothing to to with papercrafting! I am a pediatric physical therapist, and a few years back there was a new piece of equipment to assist with walking, and I thought it was just like the other "gait trainers" on the market. But once I had a demo, I saw that it was different and useful. It is called the up-n-go.

  13. I was skeptical about purchasing the Slice Elite. I am glad I made the purchase because it really does cut better, deeper and more accurately than my original blue slice which I have owned since they first came out. I really would like to win the brayer. Like the hands-free mat, I am eager to try any new toy for my Slice.

  15. Thank you for the video demonstrating how this works. I actually made a makeshift one of these from an empty lint roller. I had no idea something like this actually existed. I would love to try the real one. I didn't see a need for the hands free kit until I got it and now I can't live without it!

  16. I actually am kind of skeptical on quite a few things. Years ago, I was skeptical about CM's custom cutting system when I first started scrapbooking. Tried to make do without it.. then I tried it! It was the best! I still swear by it and still use it. Now, I have been hearing alot about the new Slice Elite. I have the original Slice. I was even unsure about the hands-free mat.. have it now! LOVE IT!! Thank you for sharing this today! I may have to try one out!!

  18. I was skeptical of the Slice. Thought I did not need an electric cutter. Boy, was I wrong!
