here, home, hope…a review and a giveaway…

**Thank you so much for your comments.  This giveaway is now closed.  The winner has been contacted.  Watch for more fun giveaways coming soon! **

Are you looking for a good book to read this summer?  I’ve got one for you…it would be perfect to read as you lounge by the pool or relax on the porch swing…OR if you’re like me, you’ll be reading it between soccer games or while you’re waiting for swimming lessons to end.  Either way – it’s a good one and I’d definitely recommend it!  The book is fiction, but has really has some great advice in it.  I’ve already copied a page in the appendix that lists all of the main character’s “T2C’s” (her abbreviation for “things 2 change”) – it’s a great reference to use for myself. It’s definitely a pretty quick and easy read, but it’s not completely shallow – it has depth and a great plot that touches on many of the challenges we might be facing ourselves.  I received a complimentary copy of this book a few weeks ago from the One2One Network.
Here’s what they had to say about the book: “It’s not often you come across a book that is one part fun, chick-lit, one part soul searching drama and one part self-help book. Kaira Rouda’s debut novel, Here, Home, Hope is  just that. Our 39-year old protagonist is Kelly Mills Johnson, a stay-at-mom of two sons and wife to successful attorney, Patrick. Her life is fairly normal and drama free, if you don’t count that cancer scare last December. Kelly knows she’s healthy but that glance at impending mortality has had a greater affect on her than she guessed. It’s summer now, the boys are at camp, Patrick is busy at work and Kelly finds herself in the dentist’s office because she keeps grinding her teeth. She’s determined to figure out what’s causing it and so sets forth on a journey of self discovery that ends up including reconnecting with friends, starting a business and daily being thankful for the blessings in her life.”
Here, Home, Hope is available in stores and online. If you want to order this book today, it’s available on Amazon.com for only $10!  Or if you’re more technologically advanced than I am, it’s available for your Kindle for only $2.48!!  You can follow Kaira on Twitter or catch up with her on Facebook. To learn a little more about Kaira, her writing and other pursuits, you can read our interview with her as well!

  8. Sounds like a great book. My T2C list has changed in the last year. At the age of 40 I found two lumps that were diagnosed as breast cancer. I faced surgery, chemo, radiation and more surgery. I am determined to make myself and my family healthier. We always say we are going to exercise together and we never do. We need to make the commitment and stick with it. Life is to precious to procrastinate any longer!!

  10. Honestly, on my T2C list would be taking more time in studying the Word. I have been doing some and digging deeper but not taking the time to make notes and to write devotions. But my mind and heart is in prayer all the time it seems. Thanks for showcasing a book that is now on my ToDo list.
